Once again I dont have a firestorm but some say your supposed to break it in on 20% then switch it to 30% ands some say your supposed to break it in using the fuel that your going to be using through the life of the engine, it's more opinionated then anything. But I dont see why you cant use 30% to break it in, just be sure to use a cold plug and you may need to add a shim to your head so pre-detonation does not occur.
But yeah I would use O'Donell as the fuel, blue thunder is quite possible the most horrible fuel I have ever tried. So much oil content, and the engine never being able to hold a tune until I switched to a new fuel and the havic that it causes with the all the OWB I ever had when uesing this fuel.
Pick O'Donell, a much better fuel overall.

If you want to start with 30% you will need to stay with 30% [:-] The important thing is to install a shim or bigger head gasket on the heat sink before you even start the break in process. Don't change the glow plug that it comes with, I believe its a medium plug but after your broken in if the tempratures allow you to use a hot plug. The one draw back to using 30% is sometimes the fuel goes away a little faster because of the rich mixtures you need to run but boy the engine screams. Good luck with the new toy and enjoy

A shim is kinda like a head gasket in a way. But there are different sized shims that can be used, but the shim will raise the head button just enough to help in lowering the compression of the engine. If this is not done you may experience pre-detenation which results to an early grave for your engine. Pre-detonation is where the fuel is ignited before the time in which the fuel would normally ignite. When pre-detonation happens The piston is still on the upstroke when the fuel ignites, this causes the fuel to want to push the piston down but the upstroke of the piston doesnt allow for it. This causes extreme stresses to your con-rod and will cause pitting to the top of your piston, resulting in an early grave and a nice expensive paper weight for your desk at home or at work.

i keep all my broken pistons on my key chain, but as for the g3.0 in the firestorm you would have to work pretty hard to kill it, i have yet to kill mine even though i never maintain it and almost always run it so hot that it litterally cooks the fuel, but still it chugs along some how its even eaten an idle bar for an improper glow plug and it still works.
