Say the rustler has bad handling on track??? because i just recently made a backyard track and man do i love runnin my rusty on it. It runs super fast and smooth around those hairpin turns. Also i think the people who say that don't know how to swing the back-end of the truck around to take turns and gas it.[>:] BUT yeah just wondering why people say that cuz i think mine runs great on track.



P.S. the only upgrades i have are TRX3.3 and some new tires mashers on rear and pro-95 on the front.

teh TRX 3.3 engine is what sux on the track and people don't compete with it cause it's soo heavy.

mate u obviously havnt driven a race chassis, if u have the chance todrive a XXXNT, AE GT2 etc, u will be amaized at the massive upgrade in handling

oh well one day when i get the money i will buy something other than traxxas. i just love traxxas man but i am debating on a losi becuase i hear they are great too.

i will agree it prolly handles good cause if you have been eating saltines all your life they are great crackers, but when someone finaly gives you a ritz you understand what you have been missing.

lol, trust me when i say the guys you run against at most tracks, know how to corner. (in traffic no less)


i think if you were handed 3 trucks, a rustler, a gt2, and an ad2, im pretty sure you would be fastest with the race trucks on a race prepped offroad track.


i have seen a rustler on youtube give a jato and a losi a good race on a large dirt oval.


i am also pretty sure that in a drag race on pavement the 3.3 rusty would beat them both.


however, with proper race prep and gearing, along with a very good driver, i am sure that the rustler could win a club level offroad race. many times club level success is purely dependent on who crashes, and who does not.





as far as being willing to change,,,,,,,,,,,,dont.

i think the truck you have is a great platform, and with lots of practice, i think you could win a race with it if you can run clean, and keep it off the boards and pipes.

The AD2 is alot better on the track. But when you are racing you shouldn't be powersliding into turns. Like the video shows, throttle control and constincy. I don't think he got off the track 1 time. If you where to take to equal drivers and give one a xxx-nt and one a rusty, the guy with the xxx-nt will win, 99/100 races. The xxx-nt2's are more geared towards racing, now some bash them but they where all designed to race. The rusty isnt exactly designed to race but with a good driver could probably win at a club entry level. Just not at the national level.

But as said you think the rusty is great at handling because that's all you have ever driven. Drive a xxx-nt2 and you will see that the rusty isnt exactly the best. But not the worst though either.

but why not powerslide i mean i go way faster than they do and my track is tighter than that one too. and powersliding helps me get out of those turns faster.

i like how you defend your rusty gainst the others... everyone does that with their own rc , thats what rc is about atleast for some part... but if you want to race pro... your rusty is the wrong choice eventhough its a good basher

i know its not a Real Pro track racer but i am only doing club entry in my backyard (yes there are other RC owners there with me.)
and yes i defend my rusty but i did say i was open for change once i am proved wrong.
i am one of those people (like most of us on RCU) who don't believe it till we see it or untill we are proved wrong.
and i defend my rc like people defend their children. even when the kids are bad the parents think they are angels.

LOL where i live i probably could profit greatly off of an R/C/Hobby Shop becuase everyone out here in the booneys plays w/ RC or races dirtbikes or somethin along those lines so a hobby/dirtbike shop would benefit my community greatly.

P.S. the closest hobby shop is like 1/45 minutes away. closest dirtbike shop is like 45 min.[:'(]

This is because your truck handles like an ox cart with 3 wheels. When you do step up to an AD2 or GT2, you'll understand why we say the Rusty handles like poo

As long as you're happy with it, that's all that matters...drive it like ya stole it...
