RE: HOW OLD ARE YOU
Almost 30. I guess it doesn't surprise me that the audience here is so young. I usually hear things like "aren't you a little OLD to be playing with toys?".

RE: HOW OLD ARE YOU
34 here... raced electric cars when I was in high school and quit after I started college. Got into planes about three years back. Pondering getting back into cars but nitro this time. Haven't visited the local nitro track to know if I'll be one of 'the old dudes' at the track.
My son is almost seven months old. I should get back into RC cars so when he's old enough to hold a controller I might be able to keep up with him.
Calling them toys is relative I think.

RE: HOW OLD ARE YOU
I'm 53. I got into this hobby when I was 25. I had been out of it for about 14 yrs but got back into it 2 yrs ago. I stared with on road 1/8 nitro racing. I did a little 1/12 electric indoor carpet racing. That was in the winter. I didn't like electrics. Couldn't get them to run reliably as nitro. I alway found nitro to be easier and more trouble free. Of course that was back in the 80's. But I still do nitro and won't touch electric. Just gotta' have that noise and smoke. I stared with an Associated RC 500 and moved up to a Serpent Excel. Now I have a Losi XXX-NT AD2 and I will soon have an HPI Baja B5 SS kit. It's on a Fed Ex truck right now. Anyway I have always been primarily a racer and not much of a basher. But I will be doing nothing but bashing with the Baja B5 and only racing with the Losi XXX-NT. No racing in large scale going on around here.
One of my friends I race with is 57 and he's been in the hobby a long time too.

Im 15 and ive been into the hobby for 2 years. I've had no help from parents, and I'm already doing repairs for other people. Never took a car to a hobby shop to be fixed either.

35 I've been in for about 5 years off and on. I have an E-MAXX, a nitro Stampede, and 2 nitro Evader ST. My 5 year old son is already a pretty good driver on the E-MAXX.

48 Been in the car/buggy/MT part for just over two years. Boats before that. Started with Control Line planes in 1969. Still learning......still having fun!
By the way, in the early 70's, it cost about $250 for a 2-channel radio with 2 servos. That was a lot back then. Prices seem so cheap now, although it does add up..........

RE: HOW OLD ARE YOU
27 and feel like 14 cause a guy just gave me his trainer plane and field box, all RTF! I got big boy toys everywhere, gunsafe full of WW2 rifles and some moders stuff, A 65 Mustang that is appraised at $30K, my nitro cars, my xbox 360 and of course my 10 month old son. He will be driving RCs and wrenching with me on the Mustang soon!
