I don't know about the Jato, but on ebay I get XXX-NT fronts and rear ends for about $15-20 shipped. So take a peak on ebay, see what they got.

Good thinking. Also as it is you can start it up and make sure the engine runs good.

for the biger gear dont be afraid to use some force but it should be easy to take it of at least mine is maby the rust is like glued it together, so use some force. For the e clip use the screw driver

hmm it works for me. If you have a slow internet connection it may take a few mins its a pdf file that is a couple MB's i think OR you might not gave adobe reader??? To find it just go to traxxas website and click models and find the jato. Then under the jato link there is exploded views. Just look in there and you will see the front end view listed.

If you cant turn it by hand that is good because that means it has a lot of comprasion, UNLESS it also dose not turn when u use the ezay start then your engine is jammed up and stuck in top dead center. You can take a flat screw driver and kinda move it but if you know nothign about this engine you should really tear it down and make sure everyhting in it is good.

take a flat blade screw driver and try to turn your fly wheel with that. If it moves it is good if it doesn't whell your engine is toast.

a little of that is your choice.you could either replace the stock engine with a new trx 3.3 or you could use O.S engines.......you can use the easy start with any trx engine and i'm not fully sure but i think O.S has a easy start backplate engine versions
