Yeah my throttle servo broke about after a month of use. I went ahead and bought AE servos and have not had an issue since.

Another thing is what do you guys think about the carbon fiber chassis from Vantage? Is it worth the money?

the vantage is worth it if ur car is worth something in show; which from the pics i think it is. it's still a very steep price though, and if u read back a couple pages i asked too and think i heard that the carbon-fiber sometimes would heat almost as much as the engine from contact.

i'm having trouble with starting the jato, it may or may not back a complicated problem.
#1: i can't tell really, but it seems like the glow plug just isn't heating much.
#2: when i got it, the engine (until it was hot from running) would always take a minute or two to loosen up with the EZ-start before it spun fast enough to start. i thought it was weird, but let it slide
#3: tho i have ran in 10 degrees F, it is still about freezing outside.
#4: from #3, the starter won't get the engine quick enough to get close to the point of starting.[&o]

Any ideas?

Well a few things. Make sure the easy start is fully charged. Also since your running incold weather try wrapping some aluminum foil around the cooling head of the engine. And finally after every run make sure you use after run oil or WD40 in the engine.

Since this is a Traxxas thread I would say a REVO. That being said I like The Savage X 4.6. Planning on getting one for this summer to do some beach bashing. The Savage is awesome in my opinion.

If anyone is interested in a used Jato with a TON of extras that's in good condition here's a link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-Jato-2-5...3A1%7C294%3A50

(Pretty cheap price for everything that comes with it too)

I have looked at the savage. I would really like a 4wd that has reverse also. I didnt see anything that said if the savage had reverse but it did look awesome. If it does't have reverse, what else would be a good rc? I was looking at the traxxas T MAXX?

The T Maxx is nice but the Revo is way better and both trucks have great aftermarket support.

The Revo is just a better all around truck. The suspension set up is great and offers alot of tunability, The Revo can also be raced and has won several awards, And no reverse in my opinion is not that iimportant.

The revo is WAY better because of its low center of gravity. the stock tires on the 3.3 still will flip the revo on pavement tho, so consider getting street tires. the revo still has HUGE ground clearance even tho i think it's closer to a truggy than a Monster truck.

on the other hand, if u live in the country or something, either would work, there aren't any paved roads.

Ok back on topic people. This is a Jato 3.3 thead. Well my Jato was run over by a car last month and I was able to get a used one for 200.00 bucks. I took some pics of it but I cant post them yet cuz im on a phone. Anyways the reconstruction is going to start soon. I plan on getting the Aluminum Titanium anodized chassis. Im going to take all the good stuff off each truck and slap it on that chassis. Thats just the begining. I will keep you guys posted with all the mods im going to do. This time im going all out.In the mean time lets start seeing some Jato pics from Jato owners out there. Show off your rides!

I have never personally done it myself but from I heard it will bring new life to your Jato 2.5. It is a direct replacement and you will be pulling wheelies all day. You should also look into other engines as well like the OS .18TM and TZ. Also the OS .21 TZ or the RB TM523. All these engines are direct replacements as well. Good luck.

Hi, I have a jato 2.5, and recently it started to strip the spur gears. I'm on the second one!

The first one may have stripped because dirt got in, but I have no idea why it stripped the second one.

Once I installed the second gear, the mesh looked to be perfect. But as I made a few laps I heard it strip the gear. This is all on pavement, the first one stripped on a dirt track.

Anyone got any ideas as to what is happening?

When checking the mesh place a small strip of lose leaf paper between the gears. It should be able to go through with very little resistance. Also make sure the screws that hold the engine mount in place are not getting lose. If anything you should use blue lock tite to prevent the engine from moving and causing gear mesh issues..

32 degrees as in 32 degrees F outside, not as a temp measure on the motor head.
