Hi all
I have a question , i have the desire to purshase a OS 18 TZ T and fit it to my RC10 GT , i have all the differential gears in metal and Robinson clutch bell . but i am still scared to buy it and tear down my car with it . I allready have a very powerfull engine , as i have a RB 12 tuned rear exhaust and slide carb and my car is pulling wheelies if i press a little too much in the staights but like everyone of us , i would like a little bit more but i fear that it might be too much ...

Hi everybody. Got into nitros about 3 years ago and just got a rc10gt. Im having problems with it though. We hafe tried three motors and the thing still wont go long. We have crv 15 in it. It goes for about half a tank just fine but then it starts to bog down and tries to stall whenever you let off the gas. Can barely ever to get it to run through more than a half a tank, if i even get half through it. If you have any ideas or suggestions please tell.

Could it be a fuel delivery problem?
Otherwise it sounds like symptoms of either a lean mixture, or worn out piston/sleeve.

You have an air leak with your fuel system somewhere. Replace all fuel lines and if you still have a problem then it is your tank. It could be the lid not making a good seal or a crack in the tank someplace. Check your fuel tank by installing 2 new fuel lines and block one with a screw so it will not let air escape. Then submerge the tank in water and blow into the second tube. If the tank is leaking you will know where from the bubbles in the water.

Good luck

OK....small question but I really need info on this. What Enginees will fit into the RC10GT???? I have OS .15 now but I really think it is on its last leg and I was wondering if a larger Eng. will fit with out to many mods. Also is there really a big difference between a .12 and a .15......also if a .18 is fitted will it really be to over powering for the Truck???? I have two RC10GT's and I am looking at replacing both Eng.

Many thanks

Will receive my OS18TZ probably this end of the week or monday , and then i will be able to answer if that power is too much , i am in the same pbs than you as i do not know if my RC10GT will be able to handle that much power (2,28 hp on a review of that engine ).

As long as i know , there is no other replacement shocks for the RC10GT and the original shocks are so good
that i don't see why replacing them by something else witch should not be as good . i have the MIP gold shaft's and their blue Oring's and it is so good that i will never change thoses.

There are lot's of Hopups to get for the RC10GT , most of the makers like RPM, MIP, Robinson, Proline etc have a lot of parts for your car , there use to exist a transfo kit to upgrade your early tub chassis to the blue flat chassis of the last GT but they don't sell it anymore , might be possible to get all the parts one by one .
they have on offer on their site (team asso) in their "web specials" a body ref 6155 made by Proline and at 9,99$ , i have got two of them
But if you look on the net you will find allmost every parts you can dream of .

Howsit guys,

IM having trouble when i open the throttle to full it runs for a bit then dies. Do you think this is a fuel stavation or it it is flooding the engine? What steps can i take to fix this. maybe retune to the Carb?
Thanks for your help.

does the rpms jump up before it dies? or does it bog?
bog means too much fuel and rpms jumping is too lean.

Hard to answer just like that . Is your engine recent (not too worn out ) have you touched your settings, what engine do you have , are you using new fuel , are all the tubings in a good shape ??
Tell us more and maybe we can try to help you out .

Yea the engine is pretty old, using a AE .15 all the tubes look as if they are good condition. Using new fuel. I was working a while back then started all of a sudden jsut started doing this.

If you did not stock your engine empty of fuel and with after run oil inside , it might have rusted or old fuel might be stuck in the carb and when it dries it becomes like glue , Have you tried to put it aparts to see how it looks inside ?
Is there still some compression a the TDC ?
Might need a rebuild as settings do not move that much after stocking the engine (my RB12 had not run for 3 years and it still run's very fine without tooching too much the carb settings)

Default RE: Official RC10GT Thread

hello everyone,

hows it goin? i am new to the world of nitro, i started out with a RC10T, and i just bought my RC10GT RTR PLUS from a private party for $130. seems like a pretty decent deal to me, the truck is in pretty good overall condition.. on thing that i had to sort of rig up was the throttle/brake linkage.. the little lock washer/retainer dealie came off of the bottom of the bar that turns and applies the brake, so every so often the brake would just stop working and my RC10GT would just keep goin and going till i stopped it with my foot.. but yeah i also bought a better air filter/cleaner..

i think i might just have to take it down to my LHS and have them tune the engine for me, considering im horrible at that sort of thing unless someone actually SHOWS me how to do it.. so i think that is the best route..

also, whenever the brake linkage would slip out of place, after i would stop the truck with my foot, the throttle would spontaneously raise by itself; with the throttle linkage in the neutral/idle position.. i guess that was probably because of the brake linkage becoming undone, but my fuel lines could benefit from being replaced, so i figure i might as well do that and be safe.

so heres a quick question for you experts: Does anyone know why the RC10GT and the RC10GT Plus had different throttle/brake servo horns? the regular version have the strange round servo horn, and the Plus version came with a standard 4 pointed horn.. i wonder why.

anyway, i just wanted to introduce myself. thanks!

So i started that OS 18TZ T , and i was a little anxious about the power , but as i am still on the running in period , i can not really say how well it works , so far and after 3 tanks , it seems to have quite much power and it is promising I am looking forward to lean and release the beast inside !!![sm=punching.gif]

Default RE: Official RC10GT Thread

So now that it has about six tanks and that i have started to lean it a little bit , the only word to discribe is WOUAHHHHH! it's a magic engine , powerfull , stable at idle , easy to tune , and so much torque ready to send the car like a huge rubber band . But for thoses who thinks that it has far too much power for the RC10GT , i can tell that they are wrong and even with taht much power the car is still very easy to control and drive , will next take it to our local track and i am quite certain to be able to give some lessons to a lot of 1/8 buggy drivers .
