Official XXX-NT Thread!!!
Hey, since there seems to be threads for other cars, I thought I'd make a thread devoted to the XXX-NT. Post pictures, tips, set-ups of your trucks.
I just got my XXX-NT a few weeks ago, and I'm loving it. Came with two engines, both run great. I'll post pictures of it soon to get this started.

My NT
Here is the chassis of my NT. I have installed Titanium tie rods and turnbuckles, Fantom fr12-03 engine, losi RTR pipe(I like the powerband better than the stock pipe), MIP shiny CVD's, Native racing 2 piece alunimum top plate. (my steering servo now comes out with the removal of 2 screws and the fuel tank can be removed with only 4 screws.) and Native racing aluminum battery box. The electronics I run are Hitec lynx 3D radio with spectra module, Novak synthisized receiver, hitec 525MG steering servo and futaba S9301 throttle/brake servo.

body on....
Here is a pic of my triton body, old and beaten.... I hope to paint a body for myself soon but orders have been pouring in. The reason I have not upgraded to graphite parts is I want to keep the weight as heavy as possible, It seems to help the traction a little.

Get MIP CVD's! Those will be my next upgrade! I think I will be very happy with them. By the way, does anyone know where I can get a cheap RX Hump Pack for my XXX-NT? I got my other one from Nitro House, but they have increased their prices, so I am looking for a cheaper place.
Thanks,
Kevin

Would MIP CVD'S make much of a difference? I haven't had any trouble with the universals. I think my next upgrade is going to be graphite a-arms. I already broke my front a-arm from my beach driving in mexico . Accidently ran into a pretty big rock, lol.

K, Heres all the info:
XXX-NT: Truck w/ engine but no radio. No graphite. (It might be built or in kit form, im not sure) The thing about this truck is that you barely ever see it in stock anywhere. I don't think they made a whole lot of them, because they are not popular.
XXX-NT Sport: This is the RTR XXX-NT. It comes all built with engine and all. The radio is totally awesome that comes with it too! It has 2-model memory and it is a computer radio. It comes with the stock Dynamite Mach 15 engine, that is pretty good. I am happy with mine. (I can even pull wheelies with it when I go over a 1/2" lip in the cement.)
Adam Drake: This is the real competitive truck. It is all graphite. It comes in kit form with a pipe and header, but they leave the engine, and radio to be picked out by you.

Hey, I've been having a small problem with my XXX-NT. The brake part keeps falling off. Sorry, kind of hard for me to explain, but I've taken pictures to show the problem.
This is how it is supposed to be:

packfan....for the price of the adam drake and an engine, you can get the mugen mst-1 for $360. much more competitive and easier to work on, even though its hard to top a DRAKE!

Dadams, It is hard to see but it looks like your collar is slipping. Replace the spring with a piece of fuel tube, also go to a hardware store and find a small screw that threads into the set screw hole in the collar, or order some set screws, they strip quick and will come loose if not really tight. mugen much more competitive than a drake?
everythign i see with the hardcore racers is xxx-nt or rc10gt in the winners chair.
kev
so the only difference between the rtr and the drake is the graphite?
not counting the engine and radio/servos.

It seems to me that everyone thinks the graphite parts are stronger than the plastic parts. This just isn't true. The graphite parts are lighter and more expensive. But they are not desinged to be stronger. They are actually more likely to break in a collision.
If you are lokking for strenght, get the titanium parts and stick with the plastic towers . However, Lighter is always faster .

Ok, thanks for the advice. I got it all set-up now. Should the brake be applied when in the idle position? I was setting up my brakes, and the way I currently have them set up, there is brake being applied in the idle position. Let me know, Thanks!
I can take some pictures of it at the idle state if you need.

Lets wait and see about the mugen. I have seen 1 win by mugen in the factory 1/10 races that kinwald, pavdis, saxton, easton, amazuka, drake, etc have competed in since the release of the mugen truck. I was stoked that there was another 1/10 truck worthy of competion, and if that CEN guy would listen to us (he says that they could build a competive stadium truck but there is no market) there would be 5 race worthy trucks. anyways I will put my NT up against a MST 1 any day.

Dadams... I like to have a tiny amount of drag brake (at idle). If you are letting off the gas you want to slow down.... Getting that light touch to brake, but not lock up the rear end can be hard to do... the small braking action at idle can be a very effective racing tool once you get used to it.
