Default Team Associated Posi-Lock Quick-Change for RC10GT?

Hi there!

i ve got a question concerning the Team Associated Posi-Lock Quick-Change for the RC10GT truck..... what is the advantage of this setup? does it give the truck posi? and if i buy it, can i use the wheels i have with it, or do i need special rims? if so, where do i get them? and do i need special dog bones? or does it come with them....??

an info on this upgrade is appreciated, as it looks like a good upgrade, if its worth it, ill get it, as the dog bones on mine are almost worn out, and i need the "cups" that the dog bones go into, comming out of the transmission.... i cant seem to find these anywhere as well.....

if i can, id like to upgrade the whole part, and this setup looks like a good start....

TIA,

ginnz.

I have never heard of the Posi Lock Quick change so I can't help you there. But If you are wanting a "Posi" Differential all you have to do is remove the Differential balls and tighen the thrust bolt and you differential will be locked. I have done this with one os my RC10GT's because i have it setup as a straight line car and it works pretty well.
here is the Diff cups you need. The left and right sides are 2 different part numbers.

If you are wanting to up grade your drive train I would suggest getting the set of RRP hardend diff gears they are a great up grade to your truck and will make your tranny nearly bullet proof. For driveshaft I would suggest you get yourself a set of the MIP CVD's. Do this and you will have the strongest drivetrain you can get for your GT.

Posi lock is a pain in the ass... it doesn't give the transmission "posi", it doesn't do anything to the transmission. It is just a type of quickchange hub that allows lazy people to swap out wheels faster. Its the system used on 8th scale on road cars. Yes, you do need special wheels. Unfortunatly all posi locks seem to be different, I have a xxxt with posi lock and the wheels are different from standard wheels. The good thing about the losi system is that there is no difference between front and rear wheels, the downside is that they are expensive. You are WAY better off just getting a set of diff cups and MIP CVD's.

Basically the advantage is that you can swap a wheel out in 3 seconds rather than 10.
Disadvantage is that it adds weight and costs more. I would also not recommend them for bashing, I have knocked wheels off of my losi a few times sliding the wheels into curbs.

i got the qc wheels on a AD2 and they're a pain, i've took hits in the rear wheels that have bumped the latch and the rim flew off .. when that happens it strips the hex and wheel most of the time. the associated qc setup uses a drive that resembles a old tamiya drive .. honestly i would stay with a standard hex nut .. mebe some mip cvd's, they're sweet.
