Trying to build a sick RC10GT
Alright so heres the deal. One of my buddies put me up to a challenge that i couldnt say no to. he wants me to jump my rc10gt over his house. its not that big but i wunna know what the biggest engine is that i can put on the car i know bout the OS18 but i wunna know ifthere is a bigger one that i can put on it.i want to make for damn sure i will make it over i thought bout doing the nitrous injection on it just for that but i decided not to. i wunna lighten it up as much as i can i just put titanium shock towers on it i would have stayed with the carbon fiber ones but i flip my **** to much. if anyone has anysuggestions let me know i would appreciate it. i will use this thread as my build thread i guess lol

RE: Trying to build a sick RC10GT
oh man... you guys are nuts..... :-) hahahhaaa. my buddy got a really used RC10GT on ebay, it has an XTM 24-7 in it, its absolutely retardedly overpowered, the first day out he stripped the tranny, we fixed that, he cant keep from flipping the car. its way too much, but alot of fun. the guy who did it, made a motor mount out of a thick aluminum sheet. id suggest a .21 of some sort, ive seen motor mounts for them somewhere. ill look around and see if i can find em.
here are some pics of one of my RC10GT's.... its running a AE .15, its goes like heck, i really like it. also, note the rear shock tower..... i was having some problems with bending it, as the aluminum one is very soft, i had some spare pieces of 3mm carbon fiber that i was making heli frames from, so i cut out a piece to go on the back side of the tower, i bonded them together with some Great Planes glue, now its super stiff, and i can keep the aluminum bling factor..... ;-) also, I won some one off cnc'd aluminum wheels off ebay last week, they look super slick, ill put them on, and im looking for a full roll cage for it as well.... then it'll be complete. hope you like.

here is a pic of my throttle/brake linkage. you really don't need a big block to jump a house. LOL! you could do it with the stock motor as long as you have enough room to gain speed and line up a ramp. show us some pics of the carnage when it is done!

You can't go wrong with the Mach 427. I picked up 2 of them cheap. one on ebay with mounts, pipe, and clutch setup for $50 with a half gallon on it and one on here with everything listed and a JP-3 pipe for $100. just keep you eyes open and you can find some real deals. And let me tell you these engines rip hard!

the one you see in the pic is from a single speed NTC3 and is a 24T gear but I think it is discontinued now. you might be able to find it now on ebay. HPI makes a gear for a firestorm which I am using on it now that is 21T and I think Axial makes firestorm spurs up to 23T
