i would like to know if anybody had any expierence with the engine. what run time are you getting? top speed?

RE: .12 cv-r expierence

top speed is about 30ish. runtime about 8 minutes on a tank. maybe 7. great reliable motor. will idle all day then gas it and go. very easy to tune once u get it tuned decent.

RE: .12 cv-r expierence

this is the best engine ive ever had so reliable a plenty of power
so far ive had about 4 and a half liters of fuel Thur it (not sure how much that's in gallons)
and she still has heps of power, well plenty for the race track that is,
i haven't even had to play with the low speed needle a and ive change fuels on it about
5 times to find the best fuel and ive found that it loves that 20% red pro-glow stuff
starts first go as long as you have fuel in the engine,
doesn't mind if the glow plug igniter isn't charged (Ive only had to charge mine 2 times since brake in)
over all i would recommend this engine to any one, but plz if you get one follow the run in, take you time
and you'll never regret buying one

I’m getting about 7 minutes a tank @ 220F. I've been considering leaning it out a bit more to get more run time and power, but it's been so darn reliable I don't want to change it...lol
As far as top speed, not sure since my track is limited and I have it geared for my track.
This engine has been so easy to tune and run. I have been using 30% O'Donnell's but I'm going to drop it back to 20%. I didn't see any power increase like you would with a Bigger engine. With 20% and 30% I use the OS A5 plug and it runs great! If anything else, I use the OS #8 plug too.

RE: .12 cv-r expierence

Hi All.

Im also thinking of getting an OS 12 CV-RX for my rush evo. Im not jumping on the OS 18 bandwagon as i believe it is far too much power for the rush, as i have already broke a fair few tranny parts with the T-15 (which i think is a great engine)

Anyway my question is - Is there a lot of power difference between the T-15 and the OS 12 ? As tower has it for $129 i think its a good price and a worthy upgrade.

I dont race, just bash at an old no longer used RC track.

cheers
Jon.

You wont see much power difference between the those two engines. The T-15 put out about 1 bhp, as does the .12 cv-r.

BS the os will kill the t-15 I own both, and the OS .18 CV-RX.

the .18 is killer in my HPI MT racer.

I concur. My OS .12 CV-R smokes the RTR RCGT10's w/ the .15 TT engines on the track.

RE: .12 cv-r expierence

Would you guys say the .18 is similar to the .12 except that the .18 isn't for racing?

the os.12 cv-r/x iz a brilliant engine,i only just broke mine in and in shows vgood power.

though it can be hard to start from cold, once warm it will run along too your hearts content.

got mine in my rush evo and i cant say it is far suprior to the t-15 -though as i`ve said its only just gon past break in.

you will all love your cv-r's right up to the moment it gets an air leak in the front bearing and then u will want to kill it.
