Most durable and best all around truck

Sorry for another what to buy post.
I am new to the rc world and I think I want a MT2 18ss+ kit, but the local hobby shop is trying to talk me into an associated RC10GT2. I prefer the 4wd but I have some questions. Which of the 2 trucks is more durable and requires less money for upkeep. Also my local hobby shop says that it is very difficult to get parts for the HPI cars and they do not carry them. I don't think I am going to race it but it is possible I just want the best all around truck.

I would not say hpi are hard to get parts for just go to towerhobbies. If you really want the hpi get it but rember if you buy it your lhs will not have parts so if somehting breaks you will have to wait like 5 days to get the parts.

I would be looking for another hobby shop as they are blowing smoke!!!!!!!! HPI parts are VERY easy to get. Watch out as many hobby shops have only one thing in mind to sell you what ever they make the most money on! Both are good trucks and if you are going to race get the GT, as there is not a class in sanction racing for 4 wheel drive stadium trucks. Many club races will let you run. You just cannot beat 4 wheel drive!

well i know now that hpi makes a very durable truck, i put it through my stress test, i took the car off a ramp at 30mph and purposly landed it on its back and made it cartwheel, so far no breaks! the link bars pop off right before it breaks, the shock towers are built like bridges and are very rigid. it also controls great and is quite a rocket on wheels. the traction is supurb being 4wd.

now, the evader is another good choice, its very durable, simple and eaisy to find parts for it is also a solid proformer. i had mine for 2years and i never broke anything other than a shock tower, a bulk head and a arm, those all broke while it was 30degrees out. dont be fooled by those who say duratrash, it has many many adjustments and goodies that the more pricy models have, thats one thing i like over my MT.

go with your gut, if the mt was your first choice, go with it!! you will not be sorry you did.;)

also the jato is not overall proformer it is wheelies wheelies and more wheelies nothing else but speed and power. it isnt the car its the .21 they have in there.

Thats why I put a 2.5 in my 3.3 jato. A much better truck now.

its cool and fast in a straight line, but if you wanna turn fugetaboutit. yes, you can make changes to help with the problem, but it still doesnt turn enuff........and you just cant beat 4wd

If you adjust the toe, camber and caster right it will turn tight. All these adjustments will make or break steering just like a real car. Mine turns tight and I have no problems with steering. But no you cant beat a 4wd.

Both are great trucks, but remember, when was the last time you saw a race car crash into a wall or clip something and come out unscathed? Never. The GT2 is a racing truck, not a bashing truck.

The HPI is more of a bashing truck. You'll be better off with it.

plus it has minimal adjustments which noobies tend to fudge.

a few things...1) wer not jumping race cars 10ft in the air 2) race cars are made to get damaged cuz that draws some of the force away and is easier on the driver 3) race cars are much lighter and break parts very easily

comparing race cars and rc cars isnt doin much good in the matter of durability

I'm comparing the GT2 as if it were a race truck versus the MT2 as if it were a regular SUV or utility truck

Between the two, its what they are. The GT2 is a full-bred racing truck while the MT2 is a bashing/fun truck.

The performance is different on both, so is the durability. That's all I'm trying to point out.

Team Losi XXX-NT is great. It depends what your LHS has or where you can get it for cheap online.
