RE: Official RC10GT Thread

Well I just stripped another while it was just Idleing I think my clutch may be slipping to much and causing the CB to heat up to much. I have the MIP 4-1 clutch in it now and its set to grab with no slip but it must still be slipping too much. I have been looking to find a steel spur besides the RRP 65T because I would like to find something with 60 or less teeth. has anybody been able to find something like that? also does anybody know what is the biggest CB thta will fit with a 65T Spur? I have a 24T bell that I'm using with a 54T spur but I don't think it will fit with a 65T spur.

Thanks for your help this is starting to get frustrating.[sm=48_48.gif][sm=48_48.gif]

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

thanks but I have already tried those. actually I got the 54T machined spur, and with the 24T cb I think the clutch was slipping too much cause it to heat up alot. I checked the temps on the head and it said I was running around 240 degrees but the end of the crank by the CB was over 320 degrees. I'm guessing its because my clutch is slipping. My spurs are actually melting becuase of the heat even while the car is just sitting at idle. I think I am just going to forget about gearing the GT that tall. I have ordered the RRP 65T steel spur and I'll just use the biggest cb I can fit with it. I have an 18T CB that I know will fit and I have a 24T that I don't thinkl will fit so I'll try a 22T CB and see if it fits.

yack nitro cars heat up the most at idle try and not do it for to long .

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

I'm not haveing a problem with the engine itself heating up. The engine is perfect and I'm getting temps around 230-260 degrees and if it is run hard it might get up to 270 but I try not to let thsat happen. its the clutch thats getting too hot. I think it the combonation of the bigger tires and the taller gearing. is there another clutch that would grab better? as long as I'm using the the MIP clutch I'm going to go more toward lower gearing to keep the clutch from heating up so much.

now I'm wanting to find some sort of aftermarket steering rack. there is a bit of slop in the stock one. does anybody know of an aluminum steering rack for the GT? or anything better than stock?

i use the MIP steering set up on my gt. here is a picture of it. i do not know if you are already running your clutch in reverse with wieghts i guess it would be the #4 setting it will grab like crazy. i run a 65 spur and a 20 clutch bell in my gt.

yakfish 09-23-2008 10:05 PM

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

Thanks Toki, I glad to hear that the 20T cb will fit with the 65T spur. do you think you could go any bigger if you wanted to or is 20T as big as you are able to go with that spur? I have been running the MIP clutch with the #4 setting and it still isn't grabing enough. thats why I think I have it gears too tall. as far as the steering goes I just ordered the GPM aluminum steering assembly but I don't think the middle link is included and I think I'm going to get the rpm link that you have on yours. I also ordered some aluminum c-hubs and steering arms for the front and rear hubs for the back. I noticed that there is an aluminum tranny case available for it too I almost ordered it but $40.00 was a bit steep for me.
Thanks for the help.

Hi guys,

My storm has only 1 week old (aroun 15 tanks) and I have a leak around the red circle on the following picture. What could I do to repair it? Only unmount the head and remount it?

I call to my local hobby shop and the guy said it is not dangerous if my engine runs well ...

What do you think about it?

Thanks

I am reciving a RC10gt that I made a trade wiht on non rc related items. Worth maybe $225. I am getting 3 trucks. RC10

gt RC18t and a rc10t3.

http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...bay_rc_008.jpg

It comes with a roll around toolbox and a gear bag.

Accorgding to the seller it has some of the best stuff avaible for the rc10gt. Critisim is welcomed. That is the only way you can learn.. Not looking to race it just to bash. The mini I want to drop lipo into it with brushless. The t3 I hav no clue.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

If you have an air leak you will have a hard time keeping your engine tuned properly. go to an auto parts tore buy some gasket glue and then seal it under the heatsink. it isn't hard to do and is cheap.

BTW this isn't the firestorm thread.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

xlt69er: that gt alone is worth the trade... lots of rpm parts on that lil guy..

i think i see a novak esc on that t3... thats another 50-80 bucks

starter box 50-80 bucks w/o batterie

and mmm threaded shocks! hot deal if it runs.... i would pay 250 if it didnt run

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

I just noticed that I did not put the pictures of the rolling tool box, the rc18t, charger, starter box, and the gear bag. The starter box is having troubles with the motors. I would like to know what to get so I can be ready to go when it gets here.

The engine is said to only have 4 - 7 tanks through it. He said he is sending all of the recipts for all of the upgrades that is in the gt. He said it is nearly 1000 I find that hard to belive but I will see when it gets here on the 30th.

Can anyone give me some infrormation like what types of part you see on this truck... Thanks alot.........
