mesh in grill?

RE: mesh in grill?
Very nice job on your grill-mesh modification TURBOFUNGUS. With some careful drilling, dremeling, and x-acto knifing one can produce some very realistic work.
But, just to add, I've done a lot of grill modding over the years, for concours competitions (or just to do it 'cause it's cool looking)and the one thing I've found is that unless you're building a "shelf-queen" that cutting out those small openings (especially on the front of the car) can severly shorten the life of the body from cracking and breaking via the inevitable running into things. So what I've done many times is paint the "to be meshed" areas of the body silver, and then glue (using shoo-goo) ordinary household plastic window screen painted black. A little glue goes a long way, so don't over-do it, microscoptic dads here and there are more than enough. And then using a sharpie marker to outside the grilled area, between that and the silver behind the screening, really shows off the screen - and the 3D appearance comes even more to life, while not cutting out those openings helps the body last longer - and you can even tell it's screened from 10feet away.
