Here are some of my (better) works I won't post the huge embarassing failures I used to paint
The latest is an HPI RS4 rally(electric). The outer Subaru Impreza body is not painted yet. I just completed the "inner body" lid.
Then there's my Parma '97 Dodge Dakota body on my Traxxas Stampede. Body inspired by my real truck.
Then there's my brother's Yokomo 180SX body that I painted for him.

There were "carbon fiber" decals that came with the kit. Here is a link to some blank 'peel and stick'sheets of 'carbon fiber' [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEGF4&P=ML]carbon fiber decal sheet[/link]

Michelob, looks nice! The toolbox in the bed is a nice touch.
I like those wheels/tires too.

The picture glue I used on daffy is still holding up. Ive broken 2 front shock towers and 1 bulk head, raer tower and way to many caster blocks. But the duck, good to go.

Here's some flames for you and plates with rivits and other detail. The 3-D effect is unreal out in the sunlight. It won RCZone Sept Best Paint contest Pro division and was in R/C Driver last month. Its not a show car I race it every weekend. The body was painted by my buddy Sparx in Denver Colorado. Velcro body mounting and a right turn antenna mount to keep the dsm antenna parallel and under the body. The velcro works best for drag cars. If they hit the net and get into the air the body comes off and flutters to the ground instead of hitting whatever the car does. Good thing too. This car has already been broken in half in 3 places when it got through the net careened off a building and augered in. Most of the chassis was worthless. But the body made it without a scratch.

There is a big Rat face on the hood and lots of other detail on this body. I know he uses Iwata airbrushes and Cretex paint bob dievels and also vinyl masks. The concept for this car is the movie Animal House. This is a drag racing version of the car that wrecked the town in the movie. The Greek letters for the frat are on the blower hat and the rear top of the car. Remember the cake? It said Eat Me and so does this car in big bright letters on the rear panel. I'm sure the opponents love it The next pic is the newest version of the Rat face for my other dragster a top fuel rail. This is part of the theme for my World Finals concours entry car. Its going to be something you haven't seen before anywhere. Very cool and detailed.

The guy is very talented. I'll post some pics of the completed body and details of how it was done when its finished now that I've found this forum.

here is my latest decided to paint my chassis to match my color change body it s hard to see the color change in pics but in the light its crasy it constanly changes color and the 20 coats of clear engine enamel makes it look candy coated and hopefully it will protect the underside from to many scratches at least for a couple of runs

painting on the inside help protect the paint and the added bonus is u dont need a gloss coat

its easy u need paint that can be used on polycarbonate
then u paint the color u want yor car to be after a few coats u then spray a backing coat either a white or black depending on the color u painted

painting on the inside is not much different thean the outside.. but everything is in reverse.. And as stated no gloss coat.. Why? cause once you remove the protective layer from the outer shell it's naturally shiny. So no gloss coat needed. I.E. draw out you design on the outside.. and paint that.. Or use paint templates which are designs that come in sticker form and you apply them to the inside.. Bottom line is this.. I suggest dark colors first then light.. cause the light colors will not show up under the dark ones. Take your time. Plan it out and start simple first.. It may take many bodies till you understand and grasp the concept. But it's fun to learn and once you start getting the hang of it. You'll really enjoy it.
