That is odd. I could swear I pasted the url. Anyway I found
the place that I actually bought some from.
WICKS AIRCRAFT SUPPLY-
http://www.wicksaircraft.com/gotopage.php?page=70
It is .030 thick.
The place I tried to paste before was Dahm's racing Bodies
http://www.dahms-intl.com/dah6.html
They have .030 and .040 but the sheets are smaller.
I am also interested in making my own shells.
How are you planning to make them?
I assume you will vaccu form them?
What will you make the plug out of?
the place that I actually bought some from.

I was planning to use foam, It is a modeling foam similar
to surfboard foam and florist foam. It is real dense and
sculpts well without falling apart. But then I was going
to cover it with a thin layer of oil based clay that is stiff
but does not dry. If you heat it up it becomes soft, and
then gets hard again when it cools. I am not sure what
it is called though. I have some at home still in the package.
I can let you know the details if you are interested.

Thats roughly what I was thinking, but after some more thought I think the foam will melt from the heat.
Maybe like what you suggest with the clay, as long as the clay doesn't change with heat.

The clay is pretty firm even when you heat it. There are
different hardnesses. I got the second hardest. I think
ideally the plug would be made from wood. but that seems
much harder to shape well.
Keep me posted on your progress.?

You bet. The links you posted it seems that lexan is more expensive than just buying a body.
I'm gonna run to home depot and hopefully they have some cheap.

Yes, looks as though the sheets are 2'x4' so I could probably get 3 car bodies outta that...
And you are correct, it is about making custom bodies. I get the best of both worlds I guess.
