want a black chrome body
 

hi I have a proline crowd pleazer muscle 2.0 for my tmaxx and i want to paint it all black chrome just like my axial oversized rims can anyone tell me the best way to do it. I was going to use window tint as the first coat and back it with alclad chrome. do you think it will work.

the best way would be to mix a very little bit of black with like a gunmetal or a silver/chrome color not pure chrome though.

Yeah, your on track. Lay down a thin coat of transparent black, back with chrome, back that with black backer.

i all so heard that you can back chrome with faskcolor silver and it will take out any hi spots. ive seen your sit cfx. have you tried it before

I "accidentally" got a metallic charcoal silver finish on my M3 body a few weeks ago. I intended to paint it Pearl... and though I had ti coated pretty good, then I added some white behind it.... then i decided to tint the windows. Well.. I'll be damned but it didn't turn the pearl into a silver charcoal metallic instead.. it looks alright - just FAR from pearl, so I imagine you can use window tint as well since it is somewhat translucent... spray that with pearl then added a thin layer of metallic silver then black....

curious to see how that would come out.

Just lay it out on a soda bottle or CD case before the body to make sure you can replicate the color you want.

try using some spazstix window tint, then hit it with the mirror chrome. Like Maxx said, it's going to be the best with a coat of transparent black first. Post pics when done:)

im gonna post pix when finished--i stopped by my lhs and go pactra window tint---ive used before---and some allclad mirror chrome and some fasmask vinals and some blue pearl with it for my proline crowd pleazer muscle 2.0 for my tmaxx. im thinking about black chrome main color---then blue pearl flames and maybe a chrome racing line down the center with flames in that but my wife says she does not think it will look right and shes allway right--so ill do some more thinking about it,
