The weight can be much more lighter , The Tunergy 5S 5000mah battery is very heavy(650g)
you can use 4200mah or 4500mah for this plane,

how much did you spend for the servos. Are the Savox servos cheap compared to JR of Futaba?

Hi, Pattern flyers,

I am close friend of BJ Park who is still F3A Korea Champhion every year and participating in worls champhionship every year for representing our national team.

He always designed and built his own 2X2 plane for competition had good results. I as a one of close friend in Korea had many times together for building and testing all range of planes,
including jets since 1998 and any scales, even though pattern is always his main category. He built his plane with Blasa woods with film cover with his own design.

As he had education in aviation academy in Korea, he has very solid fundamental knowledge and long time experience in modeal planes. He has really fantatically senstive fingers too.

In Korean RC market, we are waiting for his Monolog very much since he announced its production and now heard that his production lines are smoothly working well.
Personally, I am more inclined to jets together with him when he was here in Korea and we built & tested together F-14 Tomcat from scratch as can be seen in Jets Forum here, with title "My F-14 Tomcat Building"
It was first successful story of scratch building not only Korea but also in world model jets with beautiful flying. He was the inspector and test flyer!

In this opportunity, I would like to very much encourage all pattern lovers to try his plane to find your full range of satisfaction, mostly slow stability and adoptative manuver.

I wish his produciton line can satisfy all the flyers who wants to fly Monolog to be delivered right in time.

Have a nice flying every time!

With my best wishes to BJ Park.

Hi all,

Would love to see the shipment of the monologues arrive this month, I have many year in Rc airplanes but in pattern i'm a newby, i have a wind 110 from sebart for my first plane and now I'm recovering with monokote a pair of inspire 60 (one glow and the other Electric) the inspire 60 is a design of BJ park for fliton. If you see the details of the monologue are very similiar to the constuction of the inspire, so with close eyes I can tell the monologue will be a serious plane. I would like to know if Alex shim can help all the followers to have an on-line site for purcharsing the planes, I remebered that www.flitoncompetion.com have all the f3a ships from fliton but there were only pics, maybe with the arrival of the monologue things can turn nicely to sell them all over america.

Cheers,

Claude

This Bj Park with his design at Pombal portugal at the FAI F3A world championship. I don´t know the equipment used in this but seems the 170 size for me. I really like it.

Will you still be importing the smaller sized kits (the 110 specifically), too? Any idea when they may be available?
Thanks!

Hi. Pattern members!
It is prototype of 110 size.

we been tested110 monolog with dle20cc engine.

engine weight  was same as YS 110.

photos are showing gas and electric set up.

It is showing with 20cc Gas.

 test fly with stock muffler

make some extended pipe. ( yes! it is really looks like prototype test...)

been used  apc 16X8  prop.  Hi-RPM is 8300rpm. but little bit open to 8150rpm for flying.

Oil mixture is 30:1.

Stock muffler is not fashionable looking. we got a think about this issue...

Well Guys
Got a chances, to fly the Monolog 2x2 today, needs more trimming. Plane seems to be flying tail heavy, need to move batteries forward.
For Spins and Snaps are great an stop when sticks are released. Knife Edge, couple to the belly really bad, that both with left and right rudder
will also check motor down thrust. The new Himax 6330-210 pulls the Monolog to the "Moon", lots of power using F3A unlimted packs.

Fuselage: 883 grams
Canopy: 185 gramsGot a chance to fly the Monolog, today, Spins plane stop when sticks are released, Snaps great, knife edge pull to the belly bad.
need to check the CG
Cowling: 143 grams
Right Wing: 325 grams
Left Wing: 364 grams
Wheel Pants: 11 grams (ea)
Wing Tube CF: 88 grams
Stab, one piece: 157 grams

Default RE: F3A MONOLOG 2X2 F3A METER

Jarvis,

I am interested in Monolog. Just waiting for your next few more postings of flight report.

Meanwhile, I have a few questions to ask.

Does the plane pitch to belly with rudder input during the level flight?

Are the incidence preset from factory? manual shows gluing the incidence pins & ply-rings.

Based on the manual, it seems that the plane was built for glow setup as it shows a template on cutting the air exit on the back of the fuselage.

Control horn slots are not pre-cut from the factory. I doubt if I can use dremel with rotozip bit to cut it out. How did you cut the slot?

What is your final RTF weight? Did you add weight to right wing panel?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Default RE: F3A MONOLOG 2X2 F3A METER

Well, I got home and placed the Monolog on the work bench, used the canopy floor, using a robart meter to get the plane level at 0 degree.
The Motor had up thrust, used washers to get 1.5 degree of down thrust. It helped, but still using down trim on radio. An yes the plane does pitch
to the belly, with rudder input both left and right during level flight. So I mixed in 10% of up elevator, the incidence is preset by the factory
so no adjusters, and you can not put in adjuster. You have to glue in two 1/4''-1 1/2 CF rods and donuts to the front and a 7'' CF rod in the
back "What a Pain in the A!!!". The Monolog comes with 3 types of mount, E-power for a outrunner,YS type for the YS mount and the gas mount
for the DLE 30 gas motor. The control slots are not pre cut, the plane comes with templates for the Ailirons Rudder and Elevator. I used a 1/16''
drill bit and the template an just drill the holes the lenght of the template, and the I used a dremel with a router bit also 1/16'',it make sound
hard but was very easy to due, it was my first time. Then use 30 min expoy. Yes I did add weight to the right wing tip,My flying weight with
using Hobby Partzs Sky Lipo 4400 20c, was 4889 grams. I'll be flying this weekend at the Victorville Dist7 contest, or should I say trimming
it at this upcoming contest.

I hope that helps, Alex will be getting more setup infomation this weekend, he is in Korea, for the F3A national for the team trials ,from the
Worlds in Munice, and he will be getting more setup info with BJ Park
