Default Styro Spray

Ok......... I have seen this product around here and there and having never fiberglassed a plane and having only built balsa kits ( Insight, Pentathlon Vers 1, 2, Evo) and had the help of great friends to finish them I sought the easy way out.

Here is the product.

Styro Spray 1000

here is the Fuselage it will be applied to.

This product is designed to provide a paintable surface without the hassle of glass, silk, paper etc.

After reading others results and how they used the product I decided to Mix is 1/3 part A, 1/3 part B, 1/3 Denatured Alcohol.

In my test piece I also ordered a Yellow dye to add to the mixture. This is added at whatever density you desire.

I will apply the product using a roller starting at the tail and working forward.

Prep work for this is the same as for fiberglass.

Sand it smooth... i went to 320 grit. then sanding sealer, sand, sanding sealer sand.

I only did one coat, should have done two, too impatient and was frustrated with some things. I am realizing that I am not that great of a fit and finisher but this is proof of concept.

Chuck,

Interesting fuse !!! Looks like a modified Pentathlon. Is this another Mark Hunt skunk works project?

The plane is based off an old insight kit I had laying around.

Estimated weight of plane rtf is 10 lbs.

So far promising product for those who build better than me. More to come.
