Rob,

At this moment there are no glow versions. They are made light to be able to make weight easily with electric. There are no provisions for a glow version at this time.

You are right Jarvis, the precision clinic is scheduled for April 23rd, so we don't conflict. Thanks!

Thinking in terms of lighter weight. I would think an inrunner (Hacker or Neu) and a YGE 90A ESC. Also, CF prop and spinner. Cha - ching!!
Hi, Joe:

I recently assembled and maidened the Sickle with a Himax 6330, CC HV85 and Rhino 4900's. Weight was under 4900g (about 4870g, I forget exactly) with an APC prop, and 4816g with the Falcon CF prop.

So a relatively inexpensive combo can work weightwise. But I haven't seen any weights on the Vanquish airframe.

I had been waiting so long for the Vanquish that I started referring to it as the Vanish and instead got the Sickle, which is a very nice model. After only a few easy flights I am starting to understand why so many of you veteran pattern guys are going electric.

However, now that the Vanquish has actually materialized I will probably sell some other stuff to make room for it. Limited storage space, so something must take priority.

As soon as I get one here, I will start the build thread and give weights. I'm going to put the one I'm getting together with the recommended Torque motor that EF will sell, a Castle HV 80 ESC, and I will check the weights with some of the cheaper batteries available as well as the more expensive ones. The idea is going to be to show what can be done with this airframe. Being made electric only, I don't expect any weight issues.

Can't wait to see it, Arch!

I hope it is ready in time for the early-season meets so I can see how it handles in expert hands. Sounds as if the level of prefabrication should make it a quick assembly.

Part of the hold up was Chris wanted to make sure it would make weight with some of the cheaper batteries, that helps serve the purpose of making a very competitive plane on a budget that everyone can afford, making weight won't be an issue. The motor that will go with the plane is the Torque "Silver Bullet" F3A, it will be a good match for the plane and once again is going to be very affordable. I'll be getting some flights in on the final version of the plane in a couple weeks when I arrive in Georgia, can't wait.

Looks good, and the LiPo's aren't pushed all the way forward which indicates the tail (and overall weight) is probably safely under 5kg.

Is the stock canopy black like that, or is it clear?

Bob,

Every image I have seen of the Vanquish has showed the canopy being black. My guess is that is how it comes. I will be sure to let you know when mine arrives... If they get here in time, I will have it with me at Jackson, and Conyngham...

Very nice. Same scheme as the 48 unch MK II, which is very sharp.

Will there be enough of these models manufactured so that people that are not "in the know" will be able to buy one?

If the demand is there, I'd expect Chris to ramp up production. At that price.. I suspect the demand WILL be there if the airplane flies as well as it looks.

I agree with Doug. Now that the process has started, getting new shipments should not be that bad. I am sure that if Chris sells out of these as quick as it sounds like he will, more will be coming ASAP.

I will try to get an answer from Chris as to how many are coming in the first shipments,

That's over $1000 USD. Is this what others are hearing?

No worries, Joe. Are you looking at this for your first 2 meter?
