Very easy solution: don't buy it yet!
If you translate the price of other models they seem to use the same pricing rationale though.

Hello Volkert
Thanks for explanation.
You're right, I forgot tax !
So at this price now, my opinion is this 2x2 Vanquish is cheap.
I'm just a litttle disapointed plane will be not in thermic version.

Mith,
The way I understand it, EF is not taking pre-orders. They will sell them first come first served when they arrive. This would be a great, affordable Pattern Plane for you. Call Chris or Curtis at Extreme Flight, and make sure you are on the list of interested people.

Talked to Chris today. The Vanquishes are about 3 weeks out for the container to arrive. He also said the Torque motor they are selling as a drop in for it will sell for 199.95. I will be setting mine up with this setup and will do a full build thread/review on it as soon as they get to the states. If they arrive in time, I plan to take mine to Jackson, NJ and also Conyngham PA for the contests there.

My guess is that this will be a very actiely viewed build thread. A competetive, quality 2 meter ARF is just what the sport needs.

I'm looking forward to it. I have flown a lot of Extreme Flight planes previously and they have all flown well and been successful. I've known Chris for a long time and can't wait to get it going. The Focus series was wonderful for pattern, and has been missing the last few years and I'm sure this will fit right in and take that place. I plan to take it to every contest I go to here on the east coast, and anyone who wants to fly it is more than welcome.

Arch, at this point, about the only imput I can give is upon recieving the kit, check for completeness of fuse and all the parts, check for any damage r/t shipping, etc. Then, the next step in my opinion is the MOST important__the alignment of the vertical fin/tailpost relative to the wing tube. This check can be done as simply as blocking up and leveling the fuse lengthwise and spanwise and checking the vertical alignment of the fin with a protractor or plumb line, or as advanced as setting the fuse in a jig with the wing tube inserted and "shooting" the alignment of the vertical fin/tailpost and wing tube simutaneuosly with a cross-haired laser (my preferred method). I know alot of people are very interested in this particular prebuilt plane and I feel it can become a very important teaching/learning tool for all the newer pattern flyers. You have my vote of confidence__Everette

I wonder if there'll be a Vanquish for the 90-110 class? would be a great airframe to get people involved with the sport.

At this moment there are not any plans that I'm aware of for a smaller Vanquish. A lot probably depends on how well the 2m does. If it becomes a huge seller, then that would be motivation for Extreme Flight to look into additional sizes. I think though for the cost difference, many who would be looking at a 1.10 size plane would probably just step up to the 2m design,

I wonder what the rationale is for that. They are taking pre-orders for the new 60" edge 540T which is the plane the Vanquish was supposed to be in the same container with. If they are actually on the water why not take the orders for the Vanquish also? Doesn't make a lot of sense to keep people wondering and waiting...particularly given the lengthy history of this plane compared to the "aerobat du jour".

I believe the rational is that the other 3D stuff is a proven commodity and Chris is keeping the Vanquish low key. It hasn't even been officially announced on his website yet. I know they are on the boat as I talk to Chris regularly. Whether you pre-order, or order when they arrive, what is the difference? You get the plane at the same time,
