RE: Omaha Pattern Championship
So glad to see this one come back! I flew in that contest in 2005. It is on my calendar. I have been putting off a trip to Lincoln for a few months anyway, so with the correct planning I should be there! After not making Nationals fit into my budget this year I am really excited about this contest. now if it wasn't 100 degrees outside with a dew point of 80 I could get some practice in.

Wow! I just wish I new about it sooner! I guess I need to get active in the club again!
I missed the contest almost exactly 7 years to the day due to the birth of my youngest son. And of course we scheduled his birthday party for that day this year...
Time go get him on the simulator and make a pattern pilot out of him so he doesn't cause me to miss this contest any more!
I will stop by and say hello to everyone!

Going to miss you Jason. If anyone is thinking oc coming to the Omaha contest, we are giving away free shirts to the participants. We would like to get an idea of your shirt sizes. When you get a chance respond to this thread with your sizes so we vcan make the right choices about shirt sizes.

Robert,
Do you have any updated reports on the road conitions (closure to floods) from KC to Omaha? At one time I had heard that I-29 was closed around Hamburg but it could be open by now.
Thanks
Dan Curtis

Dan I think that 29 is still closed. Hoping it will be open by the 12 or 13th so y' all can drive up. If not you can take 59 to 34 In Iowa. It is about 30 minutes out of the way, but not a bad drive. If you are coming from Kansas take 75 all the way up

RE: Omaha Pattern Championship
Hi Brian,
I think Mark and I will be traveling to Omaha this weekend. He may have another person with him that is a Sportsman flyer. It just occurred to me that if you come you may use I 29. I did some checking and found that a section of 29 is closed from where 680 joins with it on the north side of "Omaha" down to the south side. I "usually" take 80 W to 680 to 29 S and follow 680 when 680 breaks West. This trip I most likely will have to stay on 80 until it runs into 680 on the south side of town and then follow it north as it loops back up the west side of Omaha, getting off at Fort Street as usual. Some of us are staying at the Super 8 on West Dodge just east of 120th Street. W. Dodge is several miles south of Fort Street.
I'll send you a regular email also because I can't paste the graphic into this.
Hope to see you!
Tom
