RE: Source for some Nomex honeycomb
Thanks fellas... I took a look at it appears they are using 8oz glass on both side of these panels... I was actually looking for the nomex itself for a custom layup that's hopefully a bit lighter....
maybe I'm chasing windmills here?

If you look at the second ACP link you'll see they also have CF weave and CF unidirectional Nomex panels. I have used these and they are pretty light and not terribly expensive.

Yep, you guys are right, I didn't dig deep enough....
Matt, what thickness and cell diameter do you recommend? (for servo trays, battery trays, etc)

Weight comes primarily from the reinforcing layers not the honeycomb thickness. 1/16" to 1/2" will weigh nearly the same finished. I would use 1/4" with 2.4-3 oz glass on both sides. It is stiffer than 1/16 or 1/8 and the weight penalty is very slight. Just don't go nuts with the epoxy. I sandwich the glassed honeycomb between 1/64" mylar skins and vacuum bag. I'll show how in my Derivative thread. If you don't have vacuum source, no biggie, sandwich the glassed comb between layers of waxed glass. Part All wax is the best for this and most any parting you want to do

My Feedback: (29)
Mark, I have some 1/8" thick 1/4" cell material that I am selling at very reasonable prices. I still have a couple full 4'X8' sheets left but will sell whatever size you need. PM if interested. Just noticed this is an old thread.....oh well
