Hope to see everyone here next year. A big turnout would be appreciated in our far flung corner of Africa.

If you consider that you only have to drive 60km's from your first point of call in South Africa (OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg) it sounds (to me anyway) much easier access than some of the previous World Champs!!!!!

If anyone has any non official type questions then Clint and myself (amongst others) will do our best to help. Sunshine is all but guaranteed and after 9am jeans and T-shirt will be fine. Evenings and mornings need a windcheater type jacket and/or pullover. The wind can add a bit of a chill to the air but nothing like what you guys up north are used to. Remember that August in South Africa is the END of winter.

Hi,

Here is bulletin 3 for the World Champs...only a few weeks to go. Hope to see several of you in South Africa next month. It is sure to be a fantastic event, and I know that Bob Skinner and team have been extremely hard at work to ensure it is world class.

Regards
Clint

Dear Friends:

I will take this opportunity to introduce you the Colombian National Team for FAI F3A precision aerobatics, going to The FAI F3A World Championships in Meyerton, South Africa

We will be travelling together on Aug 10 / 2013 through Sao Paulo to Johannesburg, and will be returning home on Aug 25th / 2013 after the finals. We'll stay at the official accomodation partner the Riverside Tsogo Sun Resort.

On the attached picture:

Sitting below is Federico Hinestrosa, going to his third World Championship; long time national Champion with more than 25 years of experience on precision aerobatics. He will be flying a CA models Xurama, powered by a Hacker Q80 and a Jeti spin opto 99. Federico flies JR all the way around.

Standing on the right is Armando Lega, going also to his third World Championship, also national champion several times with around 15 years of experience on precision aerobatics. He will be flying an Oxai Citrin, powered by a Dualsky motor and ESC. Armando flies Futaba TX, RX and servos

Standing on the left is Marcelo Velez, going to his second World Championship, involved in RC modeling since he was 6 years old, but only in Precision aerobatics since 2009. He'll be flying an Oxai Citrin, powered by a Hacker Q80 14XS and a Jeti spin opto 99 pro ESC. His TX, RX and servos are Futaba

We'll do our best to represent our country in the best possible way... we'll be posting our trip in this blog:

colombiaf3a.blogspot.com

Sorry it's in Spanish, but we'll try to post some info and pics in English here as well

Wishing everybody the best at the NATS this week and at the worlds next month

See you soon!

All the best to team GB too.

Good question Malcolm.
It will be interesting to see how many Bipes at this - it could be close to 50/50.
Nearly all the rest will have an array of 'winglets'.
I get the impression that quite a few have made a late change - probably at least in part due to altitude density concerns.

He's doing well, but so are Christophe and Onda. These are raw scores so there isn't equal exposure to all judges.

Andrew has an advantage as the other two fly glow, and in the SA skies there are many problems with reference as there are absolutely no clouds, they are flying diagonally to the runway with strong and gusty winds, very complicated and the judging does not seems to be that good as the variable criteria is to great. Yesterday was Onda 473 CPLR 465 and AJ 463, this right now means nothing, only when there are three rounds it might mean something, but these score are higher than anyone else anyway.

I agree. It's way too early to make any predictions based on scores from one partial round.
