    Hi J-P,
Still no final results on the official web site ????
It seems that the wine was broken out before the work was done .

Any chance that will produce an equipment list.

    RE: 2102 FAI/F3A EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

That interview was amazing. I picked up a few points that I find very interesting regarding his "style"
[*]He intentionally flies at approx. 170 meters and definitely doesn't fly "on the poles". He equates this to not flying electric as he must fly a little faster therefore, he needs a little more room[*]His prop choice 20.5 x 10 is to provide additional breaking for the YS 175CDI[*]He doesn't practice near as much as I thought he did (but hey, he's CPLR)[*]He's going to start "testing" electric with a new Axiome and Hacker motor[*]The stab is smaller to help the plane fly better in heavier wind[*]The evolution of the wing and stab has progressed to help with wind, snaps, and spins[/list]
I'm impressed with how open CPLR is about his techniques and his willingness to share information. The canalizer evolution was also interesting to me. Start with version 1 then increase span then find the chord helps more than the span and finally, version 3 with a shorter span (equivalent to version 1) with a wider chord. Chris, thanks for posting this.

Yes i have seen this video & was very helpful to understand the design & flying F3A from the worlds best pilot CPLR himself.. but its really sad that we dont have the complete coverage of this event like any other event TOC, TAS... But i would like to thank Donatas for taking time for making this video.

He's been like this as long as I've known him. At the TOC years ago, he didn't know me from Adam, as I was just a caller for a couple pilots, but was always willing to stop and talk and share the wealth so to speak. He never spoke with any sort of superiority in his voice, no condescension, or contempt. The second time I saw him in Vegas he acted as if we were old friends. Just a genuinely nice guy and an ambassador of the sport for sure.

    Hi Doug,
    Well put.
He is a very warm and humble guy.
No arrogance or ego what so ever.
He really does share his knowledge willingly and is consistent in what he says.
It is easier to be that way when you tell it how it is.
He answers questions in a very matter of fact way - I've never heard him being vague or evasive - he is pretty grown up about that stuff really.
I'd say he is asked a lot of questions.

Huh…. That was a surprising question to find here. I’m glad someone misses the Swedes =)

I would say all β€œveteran” team members have been occupied in one way or the other, and no rookies willing to do the expense and effort of going. We will be back though. Personally I really miss the competition atmosphere.

For what has been said about CPLR above, I totally agree. I could not think of a better role model.

My experience with Christophe is also great, I asked him about his spins at the WC in Muncie, in my opinion the most beautiful spins I've seen, really, the spin is an ugly maneuver, but his were exceptional, so we are using the same tent and I asked him if I could make my Axiome(first version) to spin like his , the third version, he took his radio and plane turned it on and showed my his throws, and asked me to do the same to compare, that, you don't see every day, and exceptional person and pilot for sure.

    Hi David,
It seemed like a good place to ask, this thread being about the EC's.
Yes your lot are good fun and are missed.
I had to drop out myself at the last minute, so I know what it's like.

It was Dean Pappas after last year's WC who suggested to me to keep an eye on Gerhard Mayr. Second to CPLR is pretty special. Well done Gerhard! A 6th place for Wolfgang Matt is equally as impressive. I seriously doubt anyone will surpass Matt's longevity at the very top of this game; 40 years and counting..... Amazing that he still has the passion to compete at the highest level and the health (eyesight and concentration) to continue to excell
