Hacker A50-16S
Hi Guys,
I've recently finished putting together a Sebart Wind S 50 with a Hacker A50-16S motor. One query I do have is about the installation of the motor. To fit in this aeroplane it is necessary to mount the motor in the 'radial' way using the supplied prop adaptor. This means that the steel shaft is actually inside the model with a securing ring attached to prevent the motor dismantling itself when in use. The steel shaft has a flat spot for the grub screw of the securing ring to tighten onto. Even with the csecuring ring in place, the can of the motor and the steel shaft still pull forward maybe by an 1/8th on an inch. Is this normal? Will the collet move forward onto the motor and cause damage?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Stephen

RE: Hacker A50-16S
Hi,
I have Hacker A50-16S V2 motor in my Sebart Wind S 50E.
Here is a picture of the motor before I mounted it the model and after, about 1,5 years ago. And some other pictures.
A note also: I just walked to the room where I have the model and grabbed around the spinner/prop and pulled/pushed hard back/forth and it is basically no play at all. If I use much force I can hear a slight klick when I pull/pushback/forth. Just mount the collar onflat spot.
I haveabout 650 flights on my motor.
I use APC Thin Electric 17x10 prop and Castle Creations ICE 100 ESC.
Suggestion: Go over the whole plywood motorbox and apply a little extra glue since it has happened for some users the motorbox got apart, the gluejoints can be little thin.
