Hi Brian,

Is that Fumed Silica? It is very fine, extremely fluffy material. But I don't think it's a good filler that sands easily. I don't think it will do the job on the finish that you are looking for but I don't know for certain. I would test first.

I don't use microballoons in the finish either. Much too coarse and needs extra filling so paint can stick without pinholes or bubbles. I don't recommend it as a top coat. Great underlayment tho.

So that we are not accused of highjacking this thread, maybe we should this take this discussion to your other thread?? What do you think?

Hi Papaone,
Beautiful workmanship - as usual! Is that a custom made header or is it commercially available? what type of soft mount system did you use?
Thanks,
Will

Hello Will

Thanks for your comment.

Header is Hatori 2301

4 silentblocs M5 ref. ECF5 fixed on aluminium mount as shown on picture.
it is important to make chamfers (I dont know if the word is correct) to avoid the rubber cut.

A kit, as in you actually build it? Current or dated airplane?
Tower will be releasing two ARFs this fall that are 'current' designs. Bryan Hebert has indicated that he will be producing a 110 sized version of his new Allure design (probably as an ARF and no idea when it will be available). BJ Craft has some very nice 110 sized ARFs which are available from F3A unlimited.
There are two kits of current designs: the Stage-90 by Fight Hobby which is a very nice Japanese laser cut kit (i am not sure they will ship direct to the USA) and the Europa Pro LT Mini by RC-Composit.com which is actually designed for Epower, but can easily be modified. They will sell/ship direct to the USA (Dave Lockhart has been reviewing the 2 meter composite version of the Europa Pro in his Flying Models' column). It is also a very nice laser-cut kit.
RCAiir produces a glass and foam kit of the Miss Beetle; a 90-120 sized airplane from the late '80s.
Pattern kits of any size are pretty rare these days!

Papaone, Is the Harmonie a kit or scratch built from plans? Where can I get a copy of the plans if they are available?
Thanks,
Will

Here's mine. I bought it in this condition. Glass fuse w/ sheeted foam & glassed wing. Came with new speed .61, new header and old pipe.
Has Kraft wheels, fixed gear. Never finished, no holes for push rods and no mount for aileron servo.
I plan to finish it someday.

I can understand your desire to see this kitted.
It has to be your best effort so far - looks like you have made some effort to get the thrust line right and that you have paid particular attention to the lateral balance
