Thanks Claude
all are done the old way no plastic and no (almost) CA
Wood glass dope primer Paint , and white old fashion woodglue Claude!
The wood Construction off the plane was not that much work I think I used longer time on the finish.

Hi Rune,
Beautiful Neo Stage! It appears to be e-powered which I know it was designed for, could it be modified for glow power?
Thanks,
Will
PS Did you use dope to apply the glass cloth? What is the rest of the finish? Dope with a clear coat? No need for fuel proofing!

I think it can be converted to glow , its build up is similar to the "older" japanees planes that was glow Powered.
I think the biggest mod wil be a firewall that in the kit are with a big opening and its no room for any silencer.
for fininsh I used first a coat With EZ Cote and lay the glass with the same stuff ,this is something I will not recomend its water base and dont smell but it does some scary things with the wood I hade some places where the balsa got bumpy.
Luckely I was able to use my iron for plastic to get it almost back.
so after that it was good old fashion dope With talkum and primer before akrylic base and clearcote, really basic stuf.
One thing wery handy With this kits (it was also in the goodshoot kit for 10 tyears or so) its delivered With a fullsize color scheme so I kut this appart and masked after that.

Hello
Shawn wrote "It would be nice to see more guys building their own models ".
Sure but there are ARF models cheaper than own models built and it takes time and skill et not be sure models flies well.
So I built another spécific plane for contra same as yam plane? But I'm not sure to go to electric, Yam is fantastic when runs well !

Hi Papaone,
another impressive build by you! How much do the strakes on the fuselage sides improve performance? Are they worth the effort? I know Naruke has them on his Ascent and Assist designs.
Thanks and happy flying!

Compared to the same plane without strakes, rudder throw is smaller.
But in reality, motivation is different. I built strakes because I like design and it also strenghens the fuse.

Ola Fremming build and fly this one back in 2010 and 2011, then he sold it to another guy which only fly it around 50 flights during 2013/14. Early this summer I was so lucky to get it. It is almost in mint conditions.

Hi,
It is set up with Hacker C50 + Spin 99 esc. Graupner High Voltage servoes all around. Flying weight is about 4.800 grams, with my newest batteries (960 gram) it will be around 4.600 grams. Got only 3 flights so far since the esc starts fire on the first flight yesterday but was able to land it with no damage. Just a minor burned spot on the belly pan. Hopefully back in the air during the weekend. My first impression is that it is a really well flying machine and I felt that it was crisp in the roll maneuvers and track very well.

It seems that the cable from rx to esc had a shortcut, its a burned spot on the belly pan where i guess it happend. Replaced both esc with another Spin 99 and cable yesterday, do a proper cleaning inside and outside fuse and checked out that everything works so most probabely I will have it back to air tomorrow. My model has different wing than the original, Ola Fremming build a more svept back vings and also a bigger rudder som my rudder authorities is much better than the other Oxai Azurit i also have. I use around 2900 mAh in a 7 min flight with 4600 batteries but I never flew more than one rounds of maneuvers so that ok for me.

Default My Mark III Kwik Fli

More progress on my plans built (ain't no kits) of my Vintage 1967 Nats and Inter Nats winning Phil Kraft designed Kwik Fli Mark III which I'm building for some possible fun competition with The Senior Pattern Associations pattern meets. I started constructing this Vintage Classic Pattern Air plane back in August and looking forward to flying it soon enough.

Hello

Design and building are my passions.
And since I'm retired, I'm lucky to be able to manage free time as I wish when my little children leave me alone.

Are you building right now?
A +
