I don't think they have departed from HH. Website designates HH as service center for equipment.

They still are, it is just that JRAmericas is who is presenting them at the AMA right now, not HH, HH remains SC and distribuitor, but on the 12X for example, HH had special requirements for it's software which delayed the arrival of the 12X in the US. What I mean is, this is pure JR now, just that
.

I don't think so.....

When the JR Americas bunch took the retail sales/importer responsibility and left Horizon for I believe Advantage Hobby and Len Sabato a former Horizon guy, there was an agreement to have Horizon do the service work for awhile. Then Horizon got sold and I saw a press release from JR Americas that they would be taking over the service work effective Feb.1 this year.

I have no idea if this information is dead on but it reflects what I've seen posted in the way of various press releases from the two companies.

What's been left ouf of the equation or at least I've not seen anything about it, is who is going to service the JR branded radios with the proprietary Spektrum RF deck like my 12X?????

At this time, Horizon remains the designated service center in North America for all JR products....DSM or DMSS. Obviously there are changes in the contractual relationship between JR and Horizon, but it would be foolish for Horizon to neglect a DSM customer or JR to neglect a JR customer. That is something neither company could afford to do.

I've looked for this press release and can't find it. Remember where you saw it? On the JRAmericas.com website it still says emphatically that all JR radios will continue to be serviced w/ Horizon.

This is a great radio with some wonderful features. I really like the Telemetry options with the biggest benefit the ability to see your receiver battery voltage during your flight. Another great feature is the two flight timers and they are configurable by switch or throttle....

Very sexy TX,...The Android operating system should make it very versitle. I would assume this would/will be a closed Android 4.3 operating system and APP updates controlled by JR?

Very nice.....

Got a chance to see this the JR 28x, at the AMA show, high price tag, $ 3000.00, that is more than the 18 MZ.

Kool,..Think I'll order two or three. Definetly a team pilot product or for those of the rich and famous (which leaves me out in both cases), LOL. I put my hands on a new DX 18 to program for a flier in the club (new 30% Hangar 9 Extra I assembled for him) and that radio is very easy to use. I still prfer my 14MZ and it's one of the orginal ones from when they were first released.

I'm sure it will be a great product for JR and should rival the 18MZ. Now we just need Airtronics to catch up...

The 18MZ isn't far off in price,..$250.00 bucks??

Jarvis,

Pricing has not been finalized yet. Anything said is speculative.

But it's the INTERNET!! Let's speculate, it is why these forums exist!!

I'll start. I heard that it will be either more, or less, than the 18MZ. There. I said it and now it is out there. You can mark my words!! I guarantee I am correct.

I do have to tip my hat to the JR marketing team. "Infinity" receiver is pure genius. It is a meaningless label that implies great things because any, and all, serial bus receivers/radios are essentially "infinity", limited only by the number of channels that the transmitter has. For instance, Futaba has a 3 "channel" receiver that can actually do 18 channels using S.Bus (Futaba serial bus).

28 channels? Reminds me of "Ours goes to 11" from Spinal Tap ;-)

bumpy shiny case in the photo looks off, the "book" photo looks better IMHO/...

The adroid op. is nice, I wish Futaba did that....Only for the ability to change more sounds ect for the Telem. bit...
Unless Futaba offers up someoptions.....(which I am SURE they could do so, but not sure if they will)

I do like the idea of BUTTONS!....Yes....that is what I like to see...but, I would rather have those types mounted on the BACK of the Transmitter!....
That would be nice.....
As I have learned... You have radios to make the Pilots work load LESS not MORE.....
Anytime you have to break concentration, to reach a switch, it distracts me from flying...

Futaba has a "logic" option that I have yet to fully use....

Just a quick note on gimbals - the JR XG14 has a metal gimbal ring that makes the stops feel very positive. The 12X gimbal has been my favorite for a long time, but the XG14 feels as good, with the more positive stop. I can't wait to get my hands on the 28X.

Regards,

I see the single slider on each side, and wonder if there are a few more on the back side?

Regards,
I put stiffer springs on my 14MZ but could only go so far as I was told the plastic parts that held the springs would fail with too much load. I recently got some stiffer springs for my Jeti DS-16 which has all metal gimbals and Hall effect encoders and it really helps reduce any crosstalk. You can really feel when you have pure elevator or pure aileron. I'm sure you will like the new JR.

I'm also enjoying the Telemetry. I record my transmitter stick positions and receiver antenna signal quality, voltage, etc. You just connect the Mezon ESC to the receiver and you get all the motor data. I also have GPS and a Variometer. Analyzing the flight path and altitude data is making me very critical of my flying. The hardest part is flying parallel to the runway inside 200 meters and staying in the box.

Regards,
I have come close to buying an XG14 many times for this reason. The idea of precision CNC bearing gimbals really appeals to me.

Just finding it hard to justify a new TX that won't work with my dozens of planes and Helis already fitted with DSMX receivers.

JR should do a buy-back or trade-in deal for people with several older JR receivers. It is a great time to switch to JR and I think for them and their dedicated users it is good they moved away from Spektrum, but I feel bad for the guys that have to update a whole fleet of receivers.

MP3 recording/voice playback is a key part of my next transmitter purchase. I really need my sequence on a momentary switch.
