Default 2nd Annual AVTI Winter Pattern, Feb 15th and 16th, 2014

Hi all! I will be holding on February 15th and 16th the 2nd Annual AVTI Winter Pattern Classic. These are two one-day contests with AMA/F3A on Saturday, February 15th. Sunday, February 16th is for CPA, Classic Pattern.

On the 15th for Masters, if there is enough interest I will offer the Masters P-15 that has interest in this district. I'm going to hold to Sean Mersh's suggestion and will only offer it if we will have at least 4 in both Masters and P-15. If not, we will revert back to regular Masters.

F3A will fly P-15 only.

In Classic Pattern all CPA classes will be offered. Vintage models are encouraged but not required, especially in Pre-Novice and Novice. I'll be unhappy if anyone shows up with a modern 2-meter, but the intent is more about flying the classic patterns, not hung up on the model. I may have a special award for the best "Vintage" model!

Please send your registration to me at [email protected]. Registration may also be done on the NSRCA website. Let me know what class you will be flying on each day. I want to start as early as possible and pre-registration really helps that out. I'm aiming for 8:30 launch of the first round.

Fees will be $25 for a day, $40 for both days. Lunch is included in the fee.

You can see more info on the location at avti.org.

Let's kick off the 2014 D-7 Season!

Hope to see you there!

I think I may make it for the pattern day. I don't have a classic yet so will sit that part out. Do you want me to pre register even though I am only 75% sure I will make it?

Thx,

Chris

Thanks guys. Chris, go ahead and register. It's easier to drop off then add the day of the contest.

Sorry, family is coming to town for that weekend so I won't be able to make this one. I was planning on attending and its too bad I can't make it, but I'm also looking forward to seeing my nephews.

We had a great day today! There were 21 entrants with another great turnout in Sportsman and Intermediate. Since F3A was only going to fly P-15 we also had a number of Masters fliers try P-15 by entering F3A. This actually worked quite well! We had picture perfect weather for two rounds, then partway in to Round 3 the wind came up. Most were happy with stopping at 3 so that's what we did.

A big thanks again to Mike and Jean Greear for the scoring and printing out the awards. Thanks to Derek, Andrea and Annaliese Abramson for their help with the scoring and awards. Also, thanks to Preston Knepper for the great food and to Jennifer Fish for helping out whenever she was asked. Also, thanks again to Vic Anderson for helping with the judging.

Here are the results,

Sportsman
1. Mike Whitacre - 2000.00
2. Donald Fox - 1966.90
3. Dick Chrystie - 1859.64
4. James Whitacre - 1826.29
5. Steve Hosner - 1755.01

Intermediate
1. Jamie Schoolcraft - 2000.00
2. Michael Panek - 1909.49
3. Randy McElhattan - 1856.40
4. Jean Greear - 1788.01

Advanced
1. Robert Fish - 2000.00
2. Mike Greear - 1876.70
3. Greg Meierhoff - 1814.62

Masters
1. Kris Fitzsimmons - 2000.00
2. Sean Mersh - 1948.99
3. John Bently - 1860.86
4. Lynn Burks - 1650.37

F3A
1. Tony Frackowiak - 2000.00
2. Bill Wallace - 1772.79
3. Bill Sheets - 1670.42
4. Tak Takayama - 1622.29
