5th Annual Harry Gould Memorial Pattern Contest
March 15 - 16 at Hemet Model Masters Field - one of the premier flying fields in the district. We will fly MP15 if there is enough interest. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

If someone from Lancaster is going to attend the Hemet contest and has room for an extra chair I would appreciate it if you would bring my chair with you. It's the coleman folding chair that's tan and has the table on the side.
Thanks
Randy

Hey Jon, do you think Dale would bring his EU-1A down to show us? Had hoped to see it in Lancaster, but I totally understand not wanting to fight those 3mph winds after the long drive down.......LOL

Hey all. Due to unforeseen circumstances and business being busier than I had anticipated, I will be unable to attend this weekend. Hoping to get my RV fixed before Oakdale, or I won't be able to attend that one either. Hope you all have a great weekend and so sorry I couldn't make this one.

Thanks for the pics Jarvis.
I had a great time. It was really good to fly F15 in front of judges. I think everyone learned a lot. We did learn that the score sheets are not good for a reference for calling the F15 sequence! F15 is a fun sequence to fly but it is tough to learn as a judge. We should try to publish a call sheet that makes sense for the judges.

I have to say it was really tough seeing John and Greg's Nuances mid air. Greg was flying my old Nuance and John was flying his tried and true airframe. John's Nuance disappeared in the swift flowing water aquaduct and is likely a total loss. Greg flew his back and landed it. He did an awesome job bringing it home but it was damaged pretty badly. Tough to see and I hope both pilots come back quickly

NP Steve. I'm not much of a fan of how the patterns are written so I rewrite all of them into 'my English'. I think it's also easier for the judges to hear it more like what we're used to hearing and the exits on key maneuvers helps too.

The pattern is easy to read if you know aresti(once you get past the stupid annotations for point rolls). But the published descriptions calling a 6 of 8 as 6 consective 1/8 rolls is really stupid. I still think that the insistance of calling each element of a point roll as a roll segment is misguided and confusing. Call a freaking 2of4 as a 2of4 not 2 consecutive 1/4 rolls etc. etc.
