3rd Annual Chuck Hartmann Pattern Contest Riverside CA 4/12-4/13
Hard to believe it's been a year already!!
The Riverside RC Club will host the 3rd annual Chuck Hartmann memorial pattern contest on April 12-13.
We will be flying all AMA classes plus Masters P15 (if enough pilots) and FAI F3A. FAI will fly P15 and F15. My work schedule is pretty tight between now and the contest so I won't have the time to include unknowns this year. So, we will fly a traditional 4 P and 2 F in FAI.
Pilot's meeting at 9am on Saturday. Plan on being ready to start then. We might go with one line early, off the north end of the runway. Or, if the sky is overcast then we will get going with both lines.
Contest flier is attached.
I look forward to seeing everyone next weekend at Hemet and then again at Riverside.
Steve

Hi Guys,
Please visit the NSRCA registration page and enter your details as soon as possible. http://nsrca.us/index.php/events/lis...attern-contest
It really helps when you pre-register so we can get the flight lines and judging matrices put together before the contest (as much as possible).
This will be a great tune up for those going to the west coast nats... err... I mean the Arvin Pattern Bash.
I look forward to seeing everyone
Steve.

Thanks to those that have pre-registered already. If you haven't done so, please log in and pre-reg. It makes things so much easier and we can get things rolling a lot faster.
Let me know if you are interested in volunteering for some help in scorekeeping. I am trying to get a few scorekeepers lined up so that no one has to spend too much time at the task.
The turnout is looking good so far. Should be another fun one.

Hey everyone,
Jeff and Margret Szueber won't be able to help with scoring this year, they are busy planning for Jeffery's wedding (congrats to Jeffery!). So, we will need some scoring help. Randy already stepped up but we need to get at least one more person to help out.
Thanks
Steve

BTW: Still looking for some more scoring help.

Just a reminder to everyone:
Make sure to bring your own lunch. I will have some water available. With the location of the field and the lineup of pilots you won't have time to run out for lunch. If we get lucky we will have a club member to help make a run, but don't count on it.

Thanks to everyone that turned out!
We had 32 pilots total. Great turnout. The weather was a bit dicey on Saturday with fairly strong winds in the afternoon but Sunday was a beautiful day. We were able to get the flights going early on Sunday due to overcast skies in the morning. That helped us finish up all six rounds before 2pm.
Each class had some very good competition. It was great to see a battle in Sportsman which came down to the wire! The competition in the FAI and "FAI Silver" classes was also very tight. The FAI Silver class, flying P15, was well attended with 5 pilots and standard Masters had 7 pilots. I like the FAI Silver class concept and it makes running a contest much easier. It is tough if 12 of 32 pilots are all in the same Masters class... Instead, we were able to keep the flight lines and judging rotations moving smoothly.
Now, on to the scores:
Thanks to Mike & Jean for the scoring setup and entry and also Randy McElhattan, Robert Fish and Don Fox for score entry.

A big thanks to everyone who helped with this contest! But especially to Steve. He did all this after losing his beautiful Biside in the 1st round. But he put that behind him very quickly and still ran a great contest Thanks so much Steve and so sorry about your model.
