12th ANNUAL JETERO PATTERN COMPETITION June 7 / 8 - Huffman Texas (Houston Tx)
The Jetero Club will be conducting its 12th Annual Pattern Competition on June 7 and 8 at one of the best flying sites in the Southwest. The Jetero Club is blessed with a beautiful grass runway with no trees or obstructions, large covered pit area, running water, flushingtoilets, electricity and air conditioned club house. We welcome flyers from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. This event is the perfect tune up for flyers attending the U. S. National Championships and those just getting interested in precision flying. We have multiple pattern flyers in the club from Sportsman to FAI classes and we are enthusiastic about putting on a great event for our guests. Sportsman flyers have a lot of latitude as any AMA legal airplane is ok so bring what you have and try pattern flying !!!!
Jetero Field is located about 5 miles east of Huffman Texas (15 miles east of Humble Texas) and about a mile north of FM 1960 east. The attached flyer shows a map of the location and GPS coordinates.
The field will be open for practice at noon on June 6. The pattern meet will begin on Saturday June 7 at around 10 AM and continue through Sunday. Food will be available on Saturday and Sunday from our fully equipped kitchen.
Ron Barr will be the Contest Director along with Co-CD, Dick Mundee. You can contact me by phone: 281-705-7160.

Thanks Mike,
We are 7 days away from the event and preparations are well in hand. The field is in perfect shape. Our club is fully behind the event. Leslie Hochhalter is coming and has graciously agreed to be our scorer -- she is really fantastic !!
There is a lot of interest from Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas so we are preparing for a good turnout for both flyers and spectators. We have invited a US F3A Aerobatic team member if things work out.
As an added highlight, we will also hold a judging refresher on Saturday morning that will be conducted by Andre Bouchard. This will be good for all contestant judges and will aid in the consistency in judging. This will happen 1 hour before we start flying so attendees need to be here a couple of hours before the start of flying.
It would be helpful to get an idea of generally how many are coming to the contest and a reply to this post would be helpful if you plan to come . Thanks for all the support.

Day one of the contest is in the books.... 31 contestants in attendance from Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. We had superb weather with blue skies and a few white clouds with winds primarily down the runway. A few shots of the action:

My Feedback: (1)
Great contest as usual. Thanks to Ron, Dick, and all the people who were out there in that Texas heat to make sure we (the contestants) would have a great time.
Competition was tight and that makes it really fun...can't say enough about how happy I am with my Neu-F3A and the power it delivers even in these conditions.
