My travel partner bowed out... it's 10hrs to Huntsville from the Space Coast here in FL. I'm going to ponder this for a few days. Hope my ORM comes down on the side of trip to Alabama...

This is shaping up to be a pretty good event, especially in FAI. Jason Shulman is already here, Mike Harrison, Bill Ahrens, Brian Hebert, and AC Glenn are coming, and there is a possibility that Dave Johnstone will come. FAI may be larger than Masters for a change! Weather looks good, with cooler temperatures and sunshine predicted for Sat and Sun.

Yesterday Jon and Gary did some practicing of the new Masters pattern and today Doug and Tom came up from Mississippi to join Jon and I for some practicing/coaching/plane set-up. Tomorrow my plane should be here and I can get a couple of practice flights in of F3A (I now know both Masters patterns). Looks like the weekend weather will be perfect, 80 Saturday and 85 Sunday

Jas, enjoy! Looks like you'll have moderate to strong winds out of the north (right down the runway there) are in the forecast for Saturday with moderate winds out of the north for Sunday. Steve

Thanks to Jon for a great contest and putting up with me for 6 days. Small but fun contest with the exception of the midair.
Scott, great job with the scoring, it's motivated me to look at the program again (although I'm sure I need it updated) for our March contest.

Here are a few pics from the contest.
Hey Bill... I think I know why the judges are scared
Pilots meeting
All but two of the planes. I missed Keith's pink Integral (earlier pic of it a couple posts up) and John's Prolog was flying when I took the pics and unfortunately didn't come back

Free pizza and drinks for the pilots for Saturday lunch.
Since Masters was only 4 points apart between 1st and 2nd, and Jon and Gary were the only 2 flying the 6th round, we decided to have a 1 round fly-off using all 4 of the F3A pilots as judges. I think I heard "Nats pressure" said from both Gary and Jon.
Planes are packed for FL
