Default Cajun Nationals 2014 Crowley, LA

Please join us for the 9th annual Cajun Nationals in Crowley Louisiana, October 18th & 19th. If you have ever attended the Cajun Nat's, you know, it's the one contest you don't want to miss!!!
I you have not attended the Cajun Nat's, you just don't know what you have been missing Cajun Food & Hospitality along with a pattern contest!
Looks like a few pattern flyers from the Chicago area will be making the trip to Cajun country, along with a few from D3. Who knows, this could be the largest contest South
of the AMA Nationals Last year we only had 37 pilots. This year it's looks to be more like 40 plus!!!

If you have any question, please feel free to send me an email or give me a call.

The Trophies are hand made works of art, made from very rare super pecky cypress wood. They are awesome. Your gonna want to win one of these.

Mike Mueller, owner of F3A Unlimited is planning to be at the Cajun Nationals this year along with some of the pattern flyers from the Chicago area. He will have a canopy set up to display and sell some of his wares.

Hey D3, any of you guys planning to make the trip to the Cajun Nats this year? You guys really stepped up the level of competition the last time you'll came in force and took home a bunch of trophies. D6 is looking forward to a rematch.

We're cooking Chicken & Sausage Gumbo with potato salad, and French bread Friday night. Catfish & Shrimp cakes, with baked sweet potatoes, cole slaw, French bread and Banana pudding for the Saturday night supper. The Cajun Nats is a highly competitive pattern contest with an awesome social event that wraps up the pattern season in style. Our Cajun Hospitality is second to none. The suppers are free to pilots and their families (included in the entry fee). The Rice Festival will be the same weekend, so there is plenty for the family to do within 5 miles of the flying site. Lots of bands, food booths and carnival rides. The Cajun Nats is a very family friendly event.

We started prepping the field this week, the weather is getting really nice. All the plans are coming together and it is looking like we're gonna have a really nice event this year.
For those of you planning to come early, we're having a big pot of homemade Chile on Thursday evening at the field, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo with potato salad and French bread Friday evening, and Fried Catfish, Fried Frog legs, Shrimp fettuccini, corn pudding, salad, and French bread with Bannana pudding for dessert on Saturday night. Camping at the field is primitive, and we will have several campers there, and plenty of fire wood for the community campfire. Concessions will be served Saturday and Sunday with Sausage poboys, Bar-B-Que hamburgers, and homemade fried curley potato chips.
Looking forward to seeing all our friends and fellow competitors.

No, camping is primitive, we use generators. We do have a club house with flushing toilet for the Ladies, it's run off battery power.

Weather forecast is looking nice, Low 80's for the high and low 60's for the lows at night.

Well, Tom Youens offered me the use of one of his planes so I guess I have to show. Watch out Lynn, I am coming after you.

Awesome Sheldon. Just to give you a heads up, Lynn has been putting in some pretty serious practicing every day since the College Station contest. On another note, it's good to see the newer members of the pattern community getting in the spirit of helping out a fellow competitor. Thanks Tom for helping Sheldon out with a plane. I'll bet almost every pattern competitor that has been in the sport awhile can tell you a story about losing a plane and another fellow pattern flyer has helped him out with the gift, or loan of a plane, motor, etc. There's a lot of good people in our sport.

Yeah, Tom is a real great guy. Unfortunately, due to a severe infection in my leg, I won't get any practice till Monday before the contest, but I am going to be there. Tell Lynn I said hello.

OH YEA, weather is looking awesome. We have plenty of fire wood for the evening campfires. Gonna make for some excellent camping. Great Cajun food planned, good company, perfect weather, and some competitive flying. It just don't get any better than that. The flying site is perfectly groomed, 100' x 900' grass runway. The pond actually has water in it this year, nearly full, and in the evening you can watch the fish jump as they feed.
If you miss this contest, your gonna kick yourself when everyone gets back and tells you how good it was.

Should be two of the new Allures at the contest. One Glo, and one electric with the Contra drive.

WOW, the weather is beautiful here, 56*F this morning and clear blue skies. High today is expected to reach 80*. Can't wait to get out to the flying field for some much needed practice.
