What a great time with amazing people with some great piloting in all classes. Thanks Jon, Dale, Peter, Deb, Joan and everyone else including the Hollister club members for once again letting us borrow their great facility for a few days. Great to see a good turnout from the south come up. Thanks for making the trip.
Thanks to Luke for taking the great pics and posting them! It's always great to look at the pics and remember the weekend!

Echoing what Chris just said, great contest, good turnout, good times. Thanks to Peter for the 'instant' scoring, Luke for the pictures, Jon and Dale for the contest organization and great food although I think Joan and Deb had a lot to do with that ;-)
Weather was really good. Morning fog burned off pretty quickly leaving clear skies and gentle breezes up until late afternoon when breezes picked up a bit. Temps were pretty mild, great weekend!!! It was also nice to see Lorry Whitacre again. Lorry comes out each year to present the Bob Whitacre memorial traveling trophy, a beautiful eagle statue.

I will echo the thanks to the Wavemasters club and Dale and Joan and Frank Capone and my wife Deb! It is a pleasure for me to put on this contest/party every year and I really hope that all the pilots had a good time. Lot's of good flying (6 rounds AMA and 4 rounds of Classic) with very tight competition in most classes. Thanks to all of our SoCal friends who made the trip!

In the spirit of Don Atwood's "Zen of Pattern" where your only competition is yourself, i.e. you are always trying to do better than you did the last time. I'm toying with some extended pilot analytics, check this out:
The zero axis is actually your overall average score (7.8 in this case -- the average of all my per-maneuver averages), the bar for each maneuver is above the zero axis if the maneuver is helping to pull your average up, below the zero axis if the maneuver is pulling your average down. The difference from the average is multiplied by the k-factor of the maneuver to render the actual bar. Not surprisingly, in this case, the pull-push-pull humpty and the center stall turn are killing me, primarily due to one round in particular where I did the humpty with a full roll up instead of a 1/2 roll up and it got totally into my head. BUT I think it accurately reflects the maneuvers I most need to work on. This should be even more useful when I scan across a bunch of contests and add in some other stuff.
I expect I'll have this timeline analysis on patternscoring.com in the next day or two for when you click on a pilot name within the contest results.
Please let me know if you find these analytics useful. I can do a lot more in the web-page form of your results than I can on the printed sheet due to space limitations. I'm also changing up the score chart at the top to color map your scores, 10 is a good bright green, 0 is a red, and everything is a gradient between the two:

Looks interesting Peter. Couple questions.... is the zero line the average/average of the current contest? Or of all contests this season?
Also, I would suggest not including zero rounds in the calculations, I think they would influence the averages incorrectly.

Thanks!
Heartfelt thanks to Jon, Dale, & crew for another unbelievable fantastic experience. Hollister is our favorite contest of the year, and you guys certainly make it worth the drive. Always a fine time with friends, old and new, as well as great flying. We are looking forward to next year. Enjoy some pics of the classics.
Thanks again,
