Atchafalaya Basin Pattern Contest
The Atchafalaya Basin R/C Pattern Championship will be May 16th & 17th, at the Dixie field just South of the Ramah/Maringouin exit of I-10. There's been lots of improvements at the filed lately, including widening of the runway, cutting the grass along the east side of the runway to improve the runoff area, and a lot of rock. The entire entrance road has been over laid with rock. The club has been working hard to improve the site and present an excellent event.
We could use all the support we can get for this event. Join us for some great flying and as always we will be serving boiled crawfish for the pilots supper on Saturday. There will be concessions at the field both Saturday and Sunday. For the early birds, we will have a feed on Friday evening as well.
CD is Brian Clemmons

No preregistration set up. We will start the registration on Friday and continue it Saturday morning.
I found out, the Friday evening meal will be Fired Catfish.
The weather forecast keeps improving each day, We're up to a 70% chance of sunshine and light breeze.

Unless there is a last minute dramatic turn for the worse with the weather forecast, I believe that 3 of our Eglin Aeromodeller members will be at your contest, 2 in Intermediate and 1 in Masters Class. Hope to be there Fri afternoon.

Awesome Curt. We look forward to seeing you guys there. Looks like we're up to 80% change of sunshine. Our weather site is just showing a slight 20% change of an stray thunderstorm. Winds are suppose to be light at 10 to 12 mph.

Unfortunately the weather forecast has taken a much worse turn and reluctantly, we are cancelling. We were really looking forward to attending your contest. Count on us being there next year if the weather is acceptable.

Not to mention the crawfish boil on saturday night was excellent. Thanks to all who made this contest possible. Oh yeah, the field was in excellent shape despite the rain storms on friday night. Thanks again Brian and all the others.
