District 3 finals Jacksonville Fl. Nov. 5th &6th
I want to remind everyone we are about a month away from the 2016 District 3 finals. Location will again be in Jacksonville, Florida. (Jacksonville Gateway RC Club) Great flying site, paved runway and food available at the field. Plenty of charging stations available under the pavilion. Campers are welcome, just remember no hookups. All classes flown . F3A Unlimited gift certificates through 3rd place. All registered pilots names will be put in the hat for a cash price at the end of the contest. You must be present to win. Pilots meeting 8:30. Flying starts 9:00 sharp. Again those dates are Nov 5th and 6th with the field open Friday, Nov 4th for practice. Hope to see some new faces there along with all the District 3 pilots. Presentation of District awards will also take place.
With the significant weather event that is about to hit our area I want to make sure everyone stays safe out there. Don't take any chances. See you in Jacksonville!

Due to the recent hurricane, the Gateway RC club has suffered severe damage to the pavilion area. This means not only lack of shelter but the loss of electrical power. It was also deemed this could be a safety issue. After speaking to their club president it was determined we would not be able to use the Gateway site for our district finals. Knowing we were without a site Gateway RC reached out to the Radio Control Club of Jacksonville, FL. (JAX’S) in an effort to find an alternate site. I have since contacted their president and now have the club approval for the use of the JAX’S field. This is fantastic news. We will be able to keep the same contest dates and hold the contest in the same area. The JAX’S field is paved and will support a pattern contest with no issues. Power is available, along with a shaded pavilion area. As the CD of this contest and a member of District 3 I want to thank Gateway RC for helping us find an alternate site and JAX’S RC for allowing us to use their field.
To sum things up:

Prizes 1[SUP]st[/SUP] through 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]. (F3A Unlimited gift certificates) all classes
Drawing for cash prize at the end of the contest, must be present to win and be a registered pilot! This will not be a 50/50. You don’t have to be a great pilot to win! You just need a little luck. So come on out and enjoy the weekend. If your new to pattern we will help you!

Hello Everybody!
Thank you very much for your help and support last weekend. It was rough, as you know because of my Mid Air with Larry, but this is the sport and these are the rules we play. I think we both got away with the least of the possible damages from a mid air.
Thanks again to the D3 guys, Jason for your invaluable help and coaching, Tuny, for letting me stay at his house and to the IMAC guys in Miami who made the trip with us. it was awesome.

I'm collecting a few pictures and will post here on the Pattern forum. Been away from home since the contest so I never had much of a chance to add to this thread.

Great contest Larry and Crew. The hosts were great, and the competition was excellent! - down to the last round for Intermediate! With any blessings, I'll be back again next year. I love being this close to D3! - I hope to see some of you at Triple Tree this year!
