Next time Scott comes for s visit I will let him fly it. I’m sure he will see the beauty in it then. If not I’ll suggest to his wife he needs a trip to the optometrist.

Yes Scott, that is a beautiful Kelly. That being said, I think that a Kelly with that much green needs to have a 4 leaf clover on it someplace. I'm sure Chris will appreciate the additional luck. I'm waiting for a set of plans right now and then I will let you know what the next project is.

I think we all have done a bit of racing. For me it is a nice break from pattern but for some reason I always gravitate back to aerobatics. I still have molds and all the tooling for my Macchi Warbird design.

Well DUHHH, I brought my pattern airplane because I had a pattern contest coming up. That and I knew it would rattle your cage LOL. Truth is out of all those I only have the bipe. The rest got sold or hit the dirt.

I have always been concerned about the ground clearance but being that the gear legs came from the late Don Atwood I really wanted to keep them flying. After swapping out the prop to an APC 20.5x13.5 two blade prop I just realized it was just going to be too easy to end up with a prop strike. Reluctantly I made up a set of gear plugs and started on a mold. This will allow up to 22" props. When I sell a kit here and there the end user has the option of some big props and a contra drive.

Claude, unfortunately I did not like how the gear legs turned out. They were too heavy and thick. One mistake that I made was that I was designing them to fit the current airplane and did not think about future airplanes. Then the move to a different state came about. I will revisit the landing gear soon but with a different approach. The gear legs will be straight where they attach to the fuselage and aI will design a gear plate to accomidate.

The Divergent and I survived our first Masters pattern contest. Although I have over a decade of IMAC experience I am finding pattern more technical. This means some relearning on my part. That means that although I have a year of flying on the Divergent I am still doing minor tweaks as I gain pattern experience. These tweaks are more in the way of control throws, expo values and brake adjustments. However, things are definitely coming together. I am very happy with my performance during our Don Atwood memorial one day contest walking away with a 4th place finish.

Maybe if I took out the outrunner and replace it with a big glow 2 stroke and pipe I would do better..............Nawwwwww LOL

LOL Ken, just ask Scott who did all the flying last time I visited him. In all reality I have a ZDZ 40 at home that I have thought more then once would look very much at home in a Divergent. The issue there becomes noise and forcing myself to buy a 400.00 header and pipe when for the same money I can get a nice outrunner and speed control and not need to worry about fabricating a soft mount.
