Revolution Pro
Guys
The Revolution Pro has been flown!
I thought I would show you guys some pictures of my Rev Pro that I test flew yesterday.
It has the following in it:
ï‚· YS140DZ
ï‚· Hatori 699 pipe
ï‚· Futaba 149 rx
 Futaba coreless servos. (9602’s in the tail)
ï‚· 2 x Kokam 2s lipols, 2 Jaccio regs and 2 switches
Weighs 4.7kg
I t took me 4 attempts until I was happy with the colour scheme. It is my first attempt at airbrushing.
I had 3 flights yesterday and all I can say is AWESOME!!!!
It flies very light and needs little to no mix (1 or 2%). Down lines are straight down!
Cheers

The CG is approx 12mm behind the wing tube. I think Composite arf said 10 - 20mm. I am going to move the lipols 100mm forward (next to the tank) and see what happens. Not that it is tail heavey, I just prefer it that way.

Createx Auto Air colours and a 2 pak clear over the top. Createx is a bite of a pain to work with, but once you understand how to use it, it isn't too bad. The cool thing is you can paint a colour, heat it with a modelling heat gun and start the next colour. Createx recommends heating it too.

Mine balances at the 1/4 wing retaining bolts. I put a screwdriver in either side (wings off) and it is a hair nose heavy at this point.

RE: Revolution Pro
Hi Buzz,
I'm just in the process of compleating a Rev Pro, I hope to have it running next week. What control throw's do you have?
Any chance of a pic of the instalation?
Frazer Briggs flew Rob Tunck's Rev Pro at the Aussie Master last year, he recomended more rudder throw, particularly for stall turns. Rob had to modify the hinge line flap skin (if you want to call it that) to get more throw. Have done this to yours, or are you happy with it as is?
Cheers

RE: Revolution Pro
Hey Richo
I'll help you with setting up the Rev Pro if you help me with my new Composite Arf Extra 2.6
hehehehe
I have set the Ailerons at 11dec each way. I know I have to increase the down throw by 10% for differential, but haven't done it yet.
The rudder is stock and probably doesn't travel the whole distance.
Elevator is 20mm up and down. It is more than you will need, but I like to test fly a plane with more throw than less.
On the first flight the roll rate was perfect. I am trying to slow my rate down. On the third flight with the motor running 600rpm more the roll rate needed to be slowed down. But at the same time, completely flyable, and probably where most would want it.
This setup is a personal preference. I want to change my flying style and model setup this year.
I would think the factory set up is just about perfect to start with.
I have spoken to Rob, and I understand what he has done. Once the motor has a few more flights on it I will do a rolling loop to see if it needs more rudder. At the moment it is more than enough to fly everything else.
Cheers

RE: Revolution Pro
Thanks for the info Buzz.
It's a deal! I'm just about to start a 7th 2.6 Extra, if you want some construction shots, or just want to shoot some ideas around, let me know.
Cheers,
Richo
