RE: prop for a WM Zen 50
Well, I guess no one has a Zen 50 with that engine.
I'd be using a 12x7 if the engine was a YS63 or Saito .72. This would put the max RPM on the ground in the region of 11K or so.
A two stroke .50 probably wants to be at around 14K, depending on how you've piped it. So a pitch of 5.5 would be just right. Then find the right diameter to load the engine to the desired RPM. I'd be trying an APC 11x5 or 11x6 without knowing anything about your engine. I do have a Webra Speed 50, and on the Zen I'd be trying 11x6, or 10x7 to start with.
Dropping out of knife edge probably means you're not going fast enough, or your rudder servo is not strong enough.

Well, any plane can fly well at 1/2 throttle.
How about vertical?
Also, the plane drops during knife edge flight at what throttle setting with how much rudder?
Are you trying high alpha knife edge or just a little rudder as in 4-point roll?
Have you tried moving the CG back a little?
At least some of the above information are necessary to get more suggestions.

RE: prop for a WM Zen 50
Hi there I have a Zen 50 its fitted with a Saito 65 turning a APC 11x7. It goes like stink. Most of my manauvers can be done at 1/2 throttle and theres plenty left for vertical performance. It knife edges with ease on about 3/4 throttle and 75% rudder input.Hope this helps.

RE: prop for a WM Zen 50
hi guys
thanks for the replys
you can find out more info about the west engine here http://www.westonuk.co.uk/west.html
the vertical performance was endless, thats why i spent most of the flight at 1/2 throttle
the servo for the rudder is a futaba 3001...
full throttle and max movement on the rudder[]
i will try 11x6 - 7 to see how that goes and move the CG back a tad but i wont be able to do this untill the wife decides to have the baby which is any day soon
thank guys

RE: prop for a WM Zen 50
I'd put up a 50 SX in my zen 50. The prop was APC 11*7. didnt note the RPM since i never had a meter back then, but the whole combo was good enough with plenty vertical n the knife edges were good at 3/4 throttle. manoeuvers were crisp but mine pitched toward the canopy in knife edge. Never found out why, despite numerous experiments.
