Focus II F3A Setup
How would you recommend setting up a Focus 2. i.e. What engine combos are you running, servos, balance. etc etc...
I am looking for a fairly inexpensive way into pattern and still have a 2m pattern ship. Are there any other alternatives to the Focus 2 that would be comparable?
Thanks
Bret

RE: Focus II F3A Setup
Bret,
I have been flying the Focus and the Focus II. It is a very competitive model as shown by Don Szczur's fine performance in FAI at the NATS.
He runs a YS and mine has a Webra. I noticed that there was an electric Focus at the NATS. So the power choices are wide open.
There is a Focus thread on RCU that list many details of the plane.

Basically find a motor you can tune, set the CG from 1/4" to 0" in front of the wing tube and go have some fun.

RE: Focus II F3A Setup
Small world, Huh Bret !! Im doing the same thing. As A matter of fact...Im picking up my Focus II from Brian Hueffmeier when I travel out for the Tucson Shootout in October. I elected to go with a Mintor 170 and JR8411's all the way around (since I have so many laying around). Let me know what you end up doing !! Todd Blose and I are going to get together in the winter and do some setup and practicing.
