Prop/suggestions for H9 Aresti and tt.46
My Hangar 9 Aresti is almost done. Power will be a Thunder Tiger .46 pro. What would be a good prop for this combination? Has anyone flown this combination, what kind of performance should I expect?
Thanks-

RE: Prop/suggestions for H9 Aresti and tt.46
On the TT 46's I like to use their brand of prop, the 11" series work well and are quiet. I can't remember the exact numbers but they have some oddball sizes like 11.4" x 6.5 and 11.4 x 4.7 or something, besides a 10.5" x 7 that works well. If you can tolerate a little more noise, the Tower/Hobbico mufflers add about 1000 rpm to the TT engine.

Thanks for the advice, I will see what I can find. They hobby shop was pretty lean on props tonight, I will check another tomorrow. Dumb question though, how do you know when you have the right prop? On a previous plane I was flying an 11x5, which flew okay. However, from about 5/8 throttle and up I could hear the engine get louder, but no more speed from plane. I assume it was due to the draggy design.

RE: Prop/suggestions for H9 Aresti and tt.46
I've been flying a GP Tracer with a TT .46 Pro. I started with an 11-6 and the engine really screamed. I ended up going with an 11-7 and this works really well. This plane has a ground clearance issue which prevented me from going with a larger diameter. The 11-7 doesn't really add much more speed but helps to carry the plane through maneuvers.
