No contests that I know of but pretty much any field around is going to have a lot of planes on weekends!
Where are you going to be at in the PHX area I can point you to some sites..
(I know you said Scottsdale, but there are 5 great fields within reach).. where in Scottsdale..

Yep sure is.
Just spent the day out flying F3A stuff. I had family visiting and my father in-law flies pattern. We took him out to fly my models.
Weather was about 75-78degs Sunny Blue skies and zero wind. We had the field mostly to our selves for about 2 hours.
We can get together and do some flying.

Troy, Thanks for the invite I`ll be in Scottsdale 16/12..2/1 with family. If you you send me an email personally I`ll make contact and if diaries match up we can meet up. Weather sounds great haven`t seen a day like that in the UK this year!(Ihave tried to send an email direct)
