OTOP PICS!!!
Hey guys I received my OTOP today, and man! what a plane. Painted in the mold and it is gorgeous. Planes Plus distributes this plane, and it is a steal for the price. Check out these pics. By the way when I weighed both wings. They came out to be the same weight for both wings. I am pretty new to pattern within the last few years, but I have never had an airplane where both wings came out to be the same weight 15.3 oz!!!!!!

RE: OTOP PICS!!!
Saw them at the WRAMS show- it does look great in person. The information I got from Planes Plus indicates a choice from 4 different stock color schemes. There is also an option to order the airplane with pattern or artistic aerobatic tailored control surfaces, or can be ordered with both sets of wings & tail for I think $300 extra.

I can see 4 color schemes on their flyer, none of which match yours. Did yours have a Style number?
I subsequently called PlanesPlus and found out that you can have a custom color scheme for some extra bucks. Then I saw that is what you had done.
Type first, ask second, read later... My Bad!...
Eric.

How heavy is it overall, out of the box? Any other details on its flying ability? Any coupling requiring mix?

Thank you for the time you took to do the weighing etc. It looks pretty viable from here. I was told that it uses similar construction to and Impact and that it is a composite skin and polyurethene foam shell fuselage and wing. Can you confirm?

Eric.

RE: OTOP PICS!!!
Yes Eric I can confirm that the it uses the same material as the Impact. However, the manufacturers of the OTOP made some changes the COMP ARF need to do with the Impact. They have a brace in the airplane, that makes the sides of the fuse very stiff. However it is not a big widebody as the Impact is. The body reminds me a lot of the Temptation.

Hello rgreen24
How’s the ARF.
What are the things that needs to be done before flying?
Is it a real ARF? Or could it be compared to the Impact, buy this I mean
in terms of what work is left to be finished? ( Required to be finished, before flying )
Does it have a hardware package? ( if so what is included )
Any more pic’s any one?
Anyone, any more info on this plane?
It will be greatly appreciated.

RE: OTOP PICS!!!
Thanks for the info Mike, I though as much. No I just hope it flies as good or better than the Temptation.
This is a real honest to God ARF, all hardware is included, except the engine mount. Pull, pull hardware, elevator harware, rudder and elevator mounts, tail wheel bracket (no tail wheel) Gear and wheel pants.

Hello rgreen24,
Thanks for the info.
Could you post some pics while you building it ?
And could you also give us a Report on the plane, when it’s done ( flight report )
Again thanks for the info.

RE: OTOP PICS!!!
Here is the OTOP in it's country of origin. The plane is fly by 4 yrs. old boy. He can fly it on incredible routines. You might not believe if you won't see it by yourself.

RE: OTOP PICS!!!
Glomming on to the thread here with some pics, hope that's OK. I just received an OTop Monday night and have a few pics to start with. I'm really impressed with what I see so far. Very nice paint finish for a composite bird under $900. Fuselage is quite light, weighing 2 lbs 10 oz with the landing gear with axles bolted on, rudder glued on with horn attached (with minor mods to be described), tailwheel bracket on. Wings are average at 15.1 and 15.2 oz apiece, no horns or other hardware in yet. Straight as an arrow though, as everything else appears to be so far. Stab/elevator assembly is 8.4 oz, including CF tube and AR pin, plus mounting bolts. Really nice interior finish work to the radio bay / pipe mount area. Alot of thought went into this design to make it easy to set up. No instructions provided, will have to ask Carla if they have them, but if you've ever done a CA bird, it won't be an issue. Dead easy to assemble so far and looks like just a few days work total. Apologies for the workbench clutter in the pics, as I am doing this all in a hurry. This was a snap decision to get the OTop (Saw it at the WRAMS show in FEB). I've been working to finish two Temptations for spring and have fallen behind (work, life, basement floods, snow shoveling & back pains etc - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!). So, with apologies to Temptation #1 that now shares the benchtop with the OTop, here's a few shots:
