Ultra Rc Evolution
Well, the Evolution should arrive at my door next week. Will have weights when it arrives. Maybe even do a build thread.
I have an electric coming for me and a glow version for my friend. I plan to build them at the same time so weight and prices will be compared.
May be interesting.
Chris

RE: Ultra Rc Evolution
I've been waiting on them to put some more pictures on their website with spec's and such for a few weeks now. I did get a quick response from an email and they say they're working on it. The airplane is interesting but if it has the blow molded canopy/deck like I think it does I wonder about the longevity of it. If I order one I'm sure to order a replacement canopy at the same time. That is one thing I really disliked about the small QQ Yak. It has built up stabs and wings which I'm not so crazy about either. Jury is still out. Will be nice to see someone that has one comment. I look forward to your report.

RE: Ultra Rc Evolution
I've got one coming too, I may have it this friday, I'll post some pictures whn I can.
I thought it was a good deal and I need a better plane for the second half of the season, while I am finishing my Black Magic....
I also ordered a couple hitec digital minis for the stabs.... I may go with some 4131s I have for the rest of the surfaces...
I am going to do it up with a YS 140 sport, carbon pipe and bolly gear. I am thinking of painting the canopy yellow or something, it looks like it has a some what sedate trim scheme, so maybe sombe carbon ultracote accents might be nice too.
cheers, Dean

RE: Ultra Rc Evolution
It's not listed on the site yet.
He got 100 in and 50 or so were pre orders, then the rest were waiting list.
Bryan told me that if all didn't go he would get it on the website. And that another batch was due in august.

RE: Ultra Rc Evolution
Mine will be here shortly via UPS. Can't wait to get it together. No more tuned pipe to remove each fliht as with the Icepoint and it's supposed to be a half pound lighter according to Brian. Wow!! My OS 160 already flew the Icepoint as if it were a feather. The Evolution should be awsome.
Hardware included as well as wing and fuse bags. You can order a glow or the electic version as shown in the picture. I really have to wonder what you get when you buy a $2,500.00 patter plane if this one costs just under $450.00. What......does Quique ghost fly for you in the background???

RE: Ultra Rc Evolution
I am hoping to get mine going this weekend. I am not sure on the hardware that is included. but I think I have enough spare harware items in the shop to get it together before the weekend.
I do have to work late tonight - so if I get a chance I will unpack everything and get some weights and pics.
I am approaching this plane as a low cost - semi-disposable plane to get me through my Black Magic builds - as my current plane the focus is falling apart and is basiiclly a mess....
After my experiences with the last 3 arfs I have owned - it's just a bit hard for me to get to excited about another arf... I guess scratch building puts everything in a different perspective.
But I do think it looks good in the pictures and I just may be pleasantly surprised - at least that is the hope....
It would be great if this new plane turned out to be a great flying, strong, well built and light.... Brain also told me to expect it to be around 10 1/4 lbs... I guess we will see...

WOW!
It's all canopy!
Not really sure I like the tabs on the stab to hold it on, seems a little agricultural to me.
But not a bad looking plane.
Need to tint that canopy tho

I got mine - it's crushed in shipping - the fuse is pretty bad and a wing root is bad....
Brian is going to send me another.....
it's a bummer because it is a nice plane.....
aggghhhhhh
oh, Brian did responded at 11 pm to my email with the bad news.....

RE: Ultra Rc Evolution
Were you the guy flying the icepoint at the Lake City contest? If so I sure wished I'd taken a better look at your icepoint. Wonder if they're going to bring another batch of those in. The website says June but doesn't look like it. I'd really like to see a better profile of the fuse on the evolution if you have time.
