Greetings,

I don't have one but I've been looking at it really hard for my next project. Anyone have any comments on this bird?

Best Regards,
The Dude

They've only been recently added to their site... so there's not going to be a lot of people able to respond...

It's a sharp looking ship... and lightweight...

I saw one up-close half in and out of the box. I liked the general look of it and really liked the potential weight. I know that they fly very well but can't attest to it first hand yet.

I would have built one by now if I had not decommissioned and moved my workshop over the last three weeks. I now have a couple of sport and scale reviews to complete first so I may have to wait a little. On the other hand if I get the "bug" you all know what happens next

Back to typing elsewhere - Eric.

Hallo to all
I have the Plane. It is better build then the E-Evolution. The main landing gear is implemented better. I think it's OK.

Hmmmm.
I just happen to have an OS 140RX, header and ES pipe looking for a home; JR servos ready to go. Price looks OK too.
Well, that did´nt take too long did it....

Eric H.
You probably have one by now.
Does it require much modification for a firewall - Hyde mount estalation?
Does Ultra RC ship outside the US?
Thanks.

Rodney...

Yes Ultra RC ships outside the U.S. You need to call for actual shipping charges though...

Pachemin,

Sorry for the delay. We didn't want to hold-up your shipment due to the manuals not being in from our printers yet. The manuals were sent this past Monday. Please contact me with any specific questions. I will be monitoring our email all weekend. Thank you for your business and support.

Sorry to say that I have been travelling up and down the east coast (children and grandchildren support!) with a house-move in the midlle, for the last month. Severly curtailed my building. Only got one GP Pitt's special assembled during October. I'll soon catch up when I get all of my tools out of storage.

Regards,

Eric.

Thanks David.

I ended up using an importer. Better to get gently screwed on his mark and customs up rather than royally screwed after UPS get it through customs!! :-(
It should get here before Christmas.

Greetings,

What do you think of this plane with this engine? [link=http://www.rcshowcase.com/html/RCS/rcs140se.html]RCS 140 Gas Engine[/link] It is about 4 oz heaver than an OS 1.60 which on a plane this size should'nt be an issue.

"Virtuoso"? Just curious, but I remember Chris Hinson of Extreme Flight was working on a similar plane with that name. Is that the same plane or just a coincidence?

I thought so

if it flies as well as Chris's other planes, it should be awesome. Heck I may get one....

OK....have to add more to the story..... This airplane was first designed and tested in late 2002 for Jim Eble. Jim is with Ultra-RC now. The plane was designed around the success of the 3D Quest, Version 1 at that time. It was called a Free Style 160. At the same time, the Showtime Mini was being produced for them as well. Long story short, Jim wasn't happy with the Showtime Mini, and was changing directions with his company. The Free Style 160 design was put on hold. Yes, it indeed almost made a comeback as the Virtuoso, and it is finally here as the Rock-n-Roll. Funny how these things happen. I can tell you, the Rock-n-Roll has many changes from the original Free Style 160 and the Virtuoso. Mike Parsons already pointed out some of them. Check out the canopy in the pics I have attached.....you will see there was no top hatch initially. It truly started as a blown-up Quest. You guys are really going to enjoy this plane. It is something different than the norm and truly fun to fly. Any way, I have taken enough of your time. Here are some pics fo the Original Free Style 160 so you can see how the design evolved over time.

Thanks for the additional info. I fully agree that the plane is a blast. Very true in the air. I am happy to have spare parts if I need them, as that is one thing that concerned me.

As a matter of fact, I need to get new landing gear for mine. My gear that came with the kit seemed to be a hybrid and has some flex to it. I also need an additional 1-2 " of clearance to be ablt to swing a 20" prop. The 19X12 I have on there now is as high as I can go with the current gear.

No. There arent really any local contests and with work and family it isnt a possibility at this time due to the travel involved. I can get 10 minutes of solid flight out of my 10S 5400 packs, so that should be plenty for one round, but a second set would be needed to fully compete for a day.

Thanks

I'm ordering this plane this afternoon. I want a nice flying plane to improve my flying skills the 3d planes are fun but this summer I was flying with a pattern flyer and noticed how smooth he flew. I think this plane will help me improve not only that but it's pretty cool looking. I also went to the bob seger concert in Kansa city in december. So i need some more of good ole time rock-n-roll hope the plane fllies as good as bob performed that night.

Mike, there's actually a contest at GMA April 21-22. I hope you decide to come join us!

Also there is one the first weekend of June at Mac Hodges place, and the district championship at Ga Jets around mid October. And that's just 3 that are fairly close by....
