Be a part of the 2007 USA F3A Team!

Abbreviated update...

As you may be aware the 2007 USA Team will consist of Mr. Shulman, Mr. Somenzini and Mr. Jesky...congratulations to the pilots and their families.

The Team spent several hours after the NATS discussing a number of issues including practice/coaching sessions, Argentina logistics, fund raising and more. I am very impressed with the chemistry and early "Esprit d'Corp" demonstrated by all members and management.

My goal to this point was to establish an infrastructure (www.f3a.us), fund raising momentum, assist in helping as many Team contenders be as prepared as possible for the Team Selection Event...which have been completed to my high standards with the help of many individuals for which I am grateful. Going forward, my personal efforts will be to support the Team "Regional Reps" and behind the scenes fund raising efforts. I appreciate all of the advice, assistance and efforts to get the 2007 Team to this point and am confident in Albert Glenn's experience and abilities to help each pilot reach their potential in November.

ORIGINAL: bla bla

Is Chip flying? ... Inspiring.
Yes.

He apparently broke his new plane a couple of weeks ago and had to
fly an older design.

In the first round of the finals (F07), his battery pack shifted and he had to make
an emergency landing.

He won the next round (the first Unknown sequence).

Pretty impressive.

Bob Kane sent me a CD with his photos from the pattern nats.

[link=http://picasaweb.google.com/martin.moleski/BobKane]Here is an album of his pix.[/link]

I think he got a photo of every winner in every class and then some.

Thanks, Bob!

Actually, wasn't that a "thingy"? LOL

You know, if he manages to win the worlds, he gets to cut off Gary Courtney's ponytail.....you could sell the hair from that ponytail to a wig company and pay somebody's airfare home!

I enjoyed hanging out with you, the other RV guys, and the folks flying in the team selection contest.

One of these days I'll get back to working on the website. If we'd had a better internet connection,
some of that might have gotten done during the Nats ...

Rusty,

Per our discussion at the NATS, could you send a box of team shirts with suggested donation prices for each size (if that is the preferred method) I intend to include the sales of shirt apparel as part of the Northern Virginia Pattern Contest scheduled for 22-23 September.

You probably have my contact info but if not let me know and I'll send it to you.

Thanks,
Don

The AMA has a collection of professionally produced videos of the various events at the 2007 AMA NATS. Michael Ramsey, Model Aviation Associate Editor, asked me to provide a little color on the Pattern NATS. The (6+) minute segment provides a little background on "Pattern", why one would consider flying with precision, lovely video of models on the ground and in the air, as well as a very special ceremony held at the AMA museum.

The Team, The Team, The Team...(spoken in the dialect of "Tatoo" on 70's TV sensation "Fantasy Island"...

Okay boys and girls, we have a few short months in which to fully fund and assist in the preparation of our 2007 USA F3A Team. I would like to bring our many "Global" readers up to speed on what may be one of the most prepared, most skilled and in my opinion... one of the most promoted Teams ever assembled.

Here is a little update on what has been happening behind the scenes:

JR/Horizon...I am simply breathless by the truly extraordinary financial support our good friends at JR/Horizon have committed. JR/Horizon has set the bar high, very high with their 2007 donation!

Central Hobbies...Al Coomber, owner of Central Hobbies, is one of the most important supporters/promoters of pattern and will be providing the Team uniforms for the 2007 USA F3A Team. Each Team shirt will feature the Central Hobbies logo on the front right breast pocket. Thank you Central Hobbies.

Team practices...I am aware of a number of practice sessions in the works for September and October. I encourage interested parties to contact Albert Glenn, Team Manager or Raiko Potter, Team Assistant Manager, to see how your coaching, judging skills could be leveraged in Michigan or the Atlanta area.

Fund raising...I encourage all of you to consider supporting the Team with your personal donation which may be tax deductible. Many of you are leaders within your modeling community or club and may consider a club/s donation. As always, I will return all calls as soon as possible and treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve...(414) 403-2930 or [email protected]

New "Limited Edition" Official straw hat...

The "Promotional Department" has been quietly preparing for the proverbial "Sprint" to the finish. The "Promotional Department" pictured with team leader Chip (just turned 5) and Tom (3) prior to the maiden flight of Chip's new precision aerobatic "PPrainer", the venerable Megatech "Avion" biplane. Chip has difficulty pronouncing "TRR", prefers "PRR".

The "Limited Edition" straw hat features a fully lined hat with white BadBrad stylized Brian Kennedy logo on a black removable band. Only (10) hats were produced as a premium for "significant" donations (greater or equal to $100). I am share that fewer than (4) hats remain...

Limited Edition straw hat, no charge with a minimum donation of $100.

All inquiries to [email protected] or I may be reached (414) 402-2930.

2007 FAI F3A World Champion Qui Que Somenzini and the USA Team earns the Silver Medal!!!!

Congratulations to the 2007 USA F3A Team on their fine effort. The 2007 Team, managed by Albert Glenn with assistant manager Raiko Potter, helped the Team of Qui Que Somenzini, Jason Shulman and Andrew Jesky, with their mechanics, be in position to fly to their potentials.

Additionally, I am aware of additional US precision aerobatic pilots making the trip to add their support, encouragement and expertise-Thank you!

Update: The 2007 USA F3A Marketing Team Competes in 2008 AMA Free Flight NATS!

Warning: The following post is a transparent ploy, effort, strategy to get you to think about the 2009 USA F3A Team. The author has used and will continue to link current events and obviously unrelated "news" to bring attention to this thread and/or future threads relating to the USA F3A Team. The copying of any material contained on this thread is not only allowed but encouraged!

Press Release:

Chip and Tom Dose, members of the 2007 USA F3A Marketing Team, competed in the 2008 AMA Free Flight Nationals, competing in catapult glider and hand launch glider. Chip (5) and Tom (4) actually assited in the construction of their "Euro-Asian" influenced models and came prepared with a total of (8) models including the "Mini-Flash" and the "Cata-Piglet". Despite the grueling conditions of extreme winds, intense heat and Tom needing a nap, the modelers were pleased with their results. Chip finished 12/16 in Jr. hand launch and 16/18 in Jr. catapult glider. Tom found the conditions particularly challenging finishing 16/16 in Jr. hjand launch and 18/18 in Jr. catapult and were without any special testing...the yougest modelers competing.

So, know that I may have your attention...

The 2009 F3A World Championships are fast approaching with the USA fielding what some feel is the finest Team ever assembled led by 2007 World Champion Qui Que Somenzini and Jason Shulman, Andrew Jesky and Brett Wickizer.

It has been suggested that we should "get the band back together". Please forward in private e-mail, phone call or this thread your comments regarding the strategies and activities utilized, executed. Regarding the band...would you want to participate in this very fine cause for 2009?

Cute kids Rusty....

The rubber band catapult is a great idea; my grandkids ages 4 and 2 will be taught how to use the thing to toss their hand gliders up
