Jetero Pattern Contest - June 2-3, Houston
The Jetero Club will be hosting the 6th annual pattern shootout on June 2-3 for all classes. We are centrally located for flyers from Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Our field is one of the best in Texas with a beautiful grass runway and wide open flying area, plus all the amenities: electricity for the electron boys, running water, flushing toilets and a very large covered pit area and a full kitchen with refrigerators.
We are located about 15 miles east of Humble Texas not far from FM 1960.
Come join us if you want to have a load of fun over the weekend and some great flying.
CD -- Ron Barr. Chief judge -- Steve Kessler

I've got to take SAT's in the morning but I should be up there around 1:00 or 2:00 hopefully. Looking forward to it, Jetero always holds a good contest

Thanks for all the positive feedback..... our club is enthusiastic about the contest... and we intend for it to be a great weekend for all those attending. We are expecting some excellent competition and this will be a great tune up for those attending the Nationals next month. FAI will be flying the Preliminary and Finals patterns so this will make things exciting.
The field will be open to flying and registration on Friday after we do some line marking. See you all there.

Jetero Pattern Contest...
The 2007 USA F3A Team has sent a special shipment to Team Representative, Keith Black. (Keith, I should have sent this last week...ignore the outrageous shipping cost...it will arrive by 10:30 AM 6/1!)
The package includes hats, lapel pins, shirts, Futaba and JR transmitter straps, (4) types of stickers, a tote bag and order forms for the "Signature Series" line of embroideered items.
I hope the weather is cooperative and best of luck to all!

Looks like we are off to a good start. Weather is predicted to be clear, 5-10 MPH winds, slight chance of rain on Saturday with low chance of scattered storms on Sunday.
We have 21 registered pilots as of this afternoon from Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Should be a good turnout overall.
See you tomorrow!!!

RE: Jetero Pattern Contest - June 2-3, Houston
Well this one is in the record book and an amazing weekend.
We hosted 47 pilots from Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. This is the largest pattern contest ever for our club and possibly in our state for a number of years and a good tuneup for the nationals in July.
We had perfect weather and moderate temperatures. With the contestants help we got in 4 solid rounds and were finished by ~2:00 PM on Sunday.
I wanted to thank all the contestants for being such a good group to work with and supporting our event. We had 4 father / son teams competing (Harrison, Hunt, Stohr, Lewis) and shows how the sport continues to grow. Also we had a number of new flyers that had not competed before. We had 9 in Sportsman, 12 in intermediate, 9 in advanced, 9 in Masters, and 8 in FAI. Hopefully this confirms that pattern is alive and well and growing !!! Also Keith Black sold a bunch of items for our World Team Fund.
Hopefully everyone had a good experience. We even had a 20 member impromptu steak grilling event on Saturday night.
The trophy winners were:
Sportsman:
1) Carlos Stohr
2) David Ashley
3) Ed Valls
Intermediate
1) Keven O'Connor
2) Jon Martin
3) Brandon Landry
Advanced:
1) Martin Stohr
2) Chuck Hochhalter
3) Stephen Harrison
Masters
1) Glen Watson
2) Arch Stafford
3) Mark Hunt
FAI (2 rounds of "P", 2 rounds of "F")
1) Brett Wickizer
2) Todd Blose
3) Mike Harrison
Overall we had great contestants and a great weekend. Now I can go pass out from sheer exhaustion !!!!

Hats off to the members of the Jetero Club that worked the Patern Contest. Great job, especially the kitchen workers.
Looking forward to next year already.

The Saturday evening impromptu steak night needs to be mentioned as I thought it was a great way to end a fun day. Hats off to Keith, Chuck and every one who pitched in to make such a great dinner so quickly. The Mexican food in Nederland is next on the menu!!! See ya'll there!!
