Cuban 8, does it start at the bottom half loop 45 then roll? or 45 roll pull?

Starts at bottom, 5/8ths loop to 45 degree downline, with a half roll in the middle of the downline. That's a half Cuban 8. For a full Cuban 8, enter the second 5/8ths loop at the bottom of the downline (same level as entry) and do another half roll in the middle of the downline and then radius to exit at the same entry level.

Stavros ribbon drawing seems to show the half rolls before the diagonal intersects and that's misleading. Otherwise the sketch is very helpful. The half rolls must occur at the ceter of the diagonal lines as Bob wrote. The rolls must intersect at knife edge on center. For a complete list of downgrades go to the NSRCA website, under Judging or maneuvers, and look it up

RE: cuban 8

Bob almost got it right....actually the second loop is not 5/8ths but 3/4ths loop. Plane flies past center, completes a 5/8ths loop, establishes a 45 down line, as it approaches center it initiates a half roll, completes the diagonal, proceeds with a 3/4 loop to the second 45 down diagonal.....etc.
