Hi Najary,

In post 234. Did you spray the fuselage white before you applied the colours?
How did you remove the Mould release agent from the fuselage without damaging the white gelcoat before painting?

best wishes and success on your maiden flight.

Hi David

Here is the process:
1. Sanding the white gelcoat - post 193-194.
2. Spraying Light grey coat - post 230.
3. Spraying White coat (mainly were it will remain white) - post 234.
4. Spraying the other colors - post 246-247.

I hope it answer your questions.

Regards,

Isaac Najary

Step 13 = Preparing the clear coat.
70% thinning.
Adding few drops of metallic silver pigment gives the lacquer sparkling effect.

Isaac,

I am simply astounded at the finish quality on your Osmose, your dedication to fine detail is truely admirable and I wish to thank you for the continued contribution to your thread and of course the undoubted help that this documentation is going to help modellers on a world wide level.

May I ask you a few questions:

What spray gun(s) do you use for the base colour and other colours?
Do you use the same spray gun for the clearcoat?
What pressure do you use at the spraygun?
And finally, what make/brand of paints do you use for each colour?

Answers to these questions will help me enormously as I will be spraying my Twisters soon and these will be the first project I have ever tried to paint![sm=confused_smile.gif]

Kind regards,

Andy.

Hi David

It is 360 sandpaper, you can see it in the second picture of post 193.

Hi Andy

For all the colors and the clearcoat I use a very simple and cheap airbrush, it cost about 40$-50$, I think it had been sold by Hambrol, you can see it in post 153.
Only for the base color and the white color I use a little bigger airbrush.
I use pressure of about 5-6 bar.
I use DuPont car paints.

Isaac Najary

Hello Fifou,

Can I recommend the following site for excellent stickers - www.aeropaint.co.uk.

The Aeropaint business is run by Tom Bootyman who is a UK based FIA Class pilot. Over the last few years, Tom has invested heavily in his business to ensure that he has the very latest equipment for spraying models and cutting decals.

The work that he produces is absolutely first class and he charges a very reasonable price.

Also, being an experienced F3A pilot, he has an excellent feel for what other F3A pilots are looking for. I am not sure how Tom would handle payments from overseas, but if you send him an E-Mail (tom@aeropaint.co.uk), I am sure that he would be happy to advise.

Regards

Tom can take Paypal as a form of payment, so just about anybody should be able to use his services. I had some graphics done by him last week and the quality is second to none.

Hi Fifou

No stickers are included in the kit.
I order the stickers from a local signpost shop, It cost me about 200$.
If anybody wants, I can order the stickers with his personal details for him.

Weights after step 14 = 1,229 gram
Total weight of the finish process = 1,229-1,084(post 224) = 145 gram.
Step 14 = 28 gram (145-117)
Total weight of the finish process including the job in post 193-194 = 145-33.8= 111.2 gram.
